Chapter 93

An hour later Aph lays curled against Aaron's side struggling to catch her breath. She glances up at his face and smiles seeing that he's just as worn out as she is and he's the one that started the whole thing.

A soft knock sounds on the bedroom door and Aaron flinches as he hears Melissa's voice on the other side. "Hey you two. Everyone would like to go grab some dinner now if it's alright."

Aph giggles quietly while Aaron groans. It's clear by the laughter in her voice that Melissa knows what they've been up to.

Aph comfortingly pats Aaron's chest as she answers, "We'll be down in a few minutes. Hey Melissa, is Carter around?"

She can almost see Melissa on the other side of the door, "No Rowan had to go someplace two towns over and took Carter with him. We won't be seeing them until tomorrow."

Aph nods, "Good because I have a new story to tell."

Melissa laughs, "I'm starting to love your story's. See you downstairs."

Aaron sighs as he climbs out of bed pulls on his shorts and heads for the bathroom to grab a wet washcloth. After he helps Aph she changes into a clean dress and they head downstairs.

They quickly realize Melissa is the only one here and they give her a questioning look. Melissa rolls her eyes and wiggles her phone at them, "They're not here guys. They left for the restaurant already but don't worry it's only been a few minutes."

As they head for the restaurant on foot Aph looks at everything that makes up their neighborhood, their little world. Before Starlight she took it all for granted but now she sees the beauty in it.

She slides her hand into Aaron's and as she looks up at the sky to watch it begin to transition into an amazing sunset, she feels him turn to look at her. Aaron pulls her against his side and then kisses the top of her head right as they hear Melissa giggle.

They turn to look at her as she smiles, "You two are just so cute! I am so glad this past year is over!"
