Aaron growls under his breath while Lucinda sits beside her on the couch. "What do you mean they paid you a visit?"
Aph blinks a couple of times not sure how to explain it when Aaron cuts her off, "Irene forced Aph to fall asleep so she could speak to her. It's clear they won't let her wake up until they're finished talking to her. What did they want now?"
Aph glances down at her stomach, "Well she wanted to tell me I'm going to be a great mother and you'll be a great father for starters."
Lucinda smiles, "So that little show this morning was the real deal? How exciting?"
Aaron stills as his eyes lock on her stomach and a small smile twitches at the corners of his mouth. He shakes his head to snap himself out of his brief daze and frowns, "What else?"
Aph offers Lucinda a sympathetic smile, "Irene says we need to take care of Ivan before he does something stupid. I told her we could send him to the Maze but she thinks it needs to be something more drastic like another dimension. I explained that if he's in the Maze we could keep an eye on him especially if I silence him. Michael escaped the prison dimension and Elizabeth came back with magic so something like that is too risky."
Aaron glances at Lucinda, "Why would she prefer another dimension over the Maze? She designed it to be inescapable."
Lucinda glances back at him, "Because of me. She thinks I'm too close to him and making sure he's truly out of reach would be best."
Aph nods, "Exactly but I told her she underestimates you and that you should be given the choice. Once he goes into the Maze only I can let him out and I can permanently silence his magic. He won't be a threat to anyone ever again."
Aaron frowns, "You forget about potions. What's to stop them from using them in the place of magic? That's what non-magic users did in the past."
Aph closes her eyes for a brief moment and then nods, "The Sacred Forest is sentient I guess you could say. Irene programmed the forest to behave a certain way and to react to actions taking place within it. The elves in the forest have permission to use magic but if they use it incorrectly it's taken away. If you try to create a potion within the forest but you don't have permission, the end result is a useless chemical. It would essentially be water. So once I mute him and place him in the Maze no one can give him his gift back except for me. He can try to make a potion but nothing will happen. Right now I'm the only admin for the forest. If something should happen to me the whole thing would go on lockdown. Nothing would be able to get in and the forest would determine who is allowed to leave but once they leave they're stuck out here."
Lucinda shivers, "I assume Irene was a good programmer because what's to stop it from spreading and consuming the rest of the world?"
Aph rolls her eyes, "Ok you're making me tired Lucinda. Maybe it's not exactly sentient. It has no desire to expand and it never will. Its desire is the same as Irene's desire. Even though she's technically gone it still exists and will never change. I know you have doubts but you need to trust me that she designed it with every possible problem in mind."
Lucinda chuckles, "I know Aph. I questioned my mother long ago and she gave me almost the same answer. I was just giving you a hard time."
