Chapter 78

Aaron carries Aph back downstairs where they're greeted by Melissa and Garroth. The two exchange a knowing glance as he carries her back to her seat and hovers next to her.

When she's settled he pulls her tray over beside her, heads to the kitchen to grab her a glass of water, and then places it on the tray. He watches as she carefully closes her hands around the glass and then lifts it to her lips.

Aph drains half the glass before setting it back down and smiles. Her hands hadn't shaken that much and she already feels much stronger.

She glances down at her legs and thinks about earlier. Turning to look at Aaron she watches him frown at her because he can see she's planning something.

She offers him the sweetest smile she can and she laughs as the frown deepens, "Oh don't look at me like that Aaron. I was only going to ask you to help me stand. I just want to try."

Garroth harrumphs from the kitchen, "You've only been awake for a couple of days Aph. Don't you think it's too soon?"

Aph shrugs, "Maybe but I already feel much stronger. I want to try."

Aaron lets out a slow sigh and nods. Moving in front of her he places a hand on each side of her and helps her slide to her feet.

Once he's sure she has her feet under her he lets go and they all hold their breath and watch as she is able to stay standing. A large smile spreads across her face and fills her eyes. None of them are able to resist and smile back.

The front door opens and they turn to watch Sylvana and Eric walk into the house. The moment Aph's mother sees her she squeals with delight, "Oh Mija! My baby is standing Eric!"

Losing her concentration, Aph wobbles and then falls into Aaron's arms. Aaron quietly growls as she falls against him and then carefully lifts her up and places her back on her seat. She offers him another smile, "I'm alright Aaron. It won't be long before I'm back to normal."

Aaron gently smiles back and kisses her forehead, "I'll take you either way Aph."

Aph blushes and nods, "I love you too Aaron. I will walk down that aisle when it's time."

Aaron chuckles, "I have no doubt about that."
