Aph didn't just have another bowl but two and several slices of toast. She sighs and smiles as she hops down from her stool and circles around to the sink to wash her breakfast dishes.

Melissa snatches the bowl out of her hands and shakes her head. "I can handle this. Lucinda would like you to stop by to discuss Halloween decorations."

Aph glances at the calendar and giggles. Halloween is only a few days away making their trip to the cottage even closer. It's one of her favorite holidays but she might actually be looking forward to the cottage trip more than Halloween.

She glances at Aaron and then turns back to Lucinda. "Did Lucinda say where she'd be?"

With her back to them, she nods as she's finishing up the dishes. "She said she had to take inventory at the shop. I don't need to be anywhere until later this afternoon so you can take the car."

Lucinda's shop is a couple of blocks past the grocery store and Aph is grateful that Melissa is letting them use the car. She thinks back to their last outing and really doesn't want a repeat just yet.

Melissa tosses the keys to Aaron and with a sharp nod, they head out through the front door and climb into the car. Aph practically bounces in her seat while Aaron drives down their street and then makes his way through town.

He glances over at her and quietly laughs. "I know Halloween is your favorite holiday and I'm sure you told me why once but remind me?"

Aph's smile fades a little and she grows serious. "I always felt invisible when I was little like no one could see me, especially being homeschooled. Halloween is the only time we can dress up and be literally anything we can imagine. My favorites were angels, werewolves, and princesses. Mom always seemed a little sad when I dressed up as a werewolf and now I know why."

Aaron nods in understanding, "I didn't mind being invisible, not really. I was always afraid someone would find out what I was. I just wanted to be a normal boring human. I suppose I wore a costume every day. So the ton of candy had nothing to do with it?"

Aph frowns at him and then rolls her eyes, "It's hard to believe none of the other werewolves figured it out of course Melissa told me you all worked hard to mask your scent. The candy did play a big part when I was a kid but not so much as I got older. I still love candy but I can live without it. Since most of it's usually chocolate I guess I have to."

Aaron smiles at her, "You were never invisible to me. Before I knew you were Shu I wished you would disappear but every time I turned around you were there. I always felt like I was being pulled to you and it pissed me off. I was relieved when you were my Shu. Knowing what I do now it all makes sense."

Aph nods, "You were a jerk Aaron but I felt compelled to be nice to you. If anyone had told me back then we'd be soulmates I would have told them to see a shrink. Now I know we've been dancing around each other for centuries, waiting for a chance to be together without interference. I won't let anything ruin that this time."
