Aph can't help but try to rush through her breakfast. The noise of everyone trying to talk to her at once is a bit overwhelming but she manages to answer everything thrown at her.
When they all finally hug her and head out for the day she takes a deep breath and slowly releases it. She starts to gather her dishes and carry them around to the sink but Aaron stops her and smiles. "I have this Babe. We'll be leaving in a few minutes so why don't you get ready for the car ride."
Aph nods and quickly heads for the bathroom knowing it won't take Aaron long. She can't wait to get to the forest and wastes no time taking care of her business.
When she comes out she can hear him talking to someone in the living room so she moves to join them and smiles when she sees her mother. She's not surprised to see Eric is with her and he has Eli in his carrier while both Alexander and Celestia sit patiently by her mother.
Her mother turns to her and smiles, "Mija! How are you feeling this morning dear?"
Aph gives her mother a quick hug and smiles even brighter. "My shoulder is still a little sore but I'm alright. I see you came to take the children."
Sylvanna looks down at the dogs and absentmindedly runs her hand over Celestia's head. "Yes, we've come to take them home with us. You know we never mind watching them but do you have to go to the forest Mija? How long will you be gone?"
Aph shrugs, "I'm not sure but it won't be too long, mom. We'll definitely be home for Thanksgiving and that's only a few weeks away. I just need time to heal and it's the best place for me right now."
Eric drapes his arm across Sylvanna's shoulders and gently squeezes. "Now Sylvanna, we talked about this. We all want what's best for her and you know this is it. She won't be gone forever."
Sylvanna sighs heavily, "I know but I just got her back."
Aph tilts her head until she sees her mother looking back at her. "I'll miss you too mom. I promise I won't be gone long."
Sylvanna gives her a sad smile and nods. "Alright Mija, please drive safe and focus on healing. Maybe you won't have to be there more than a week."
Aph glances at Aaron and rolls her eyes. "We'll see mom."
Aaron opens the door and then helps Sylvanna get the dogs into their car. Aph leans against one of the porch pillars and waives as she watches them drive away.
Aaron joins her and smiles, "You can't fault her for loving you so much. I know I do."
Aph smiles and then leans up to give him a gentle kiss just as Melissa steps out of the house. "Alright you two, let's get you to the cottage."
Aaron follows behind her and they listen as Melissa locks the front door and then skips down the steps to catch up to them. As they all climb into the car Aph bounces in her seat as the excitement begins to build.
Melissa chuckles as she pulls away from the house, "Aph if you don't sit still you're going to wear the springs out in the seat."
