Chapter 144

Tessa-Present

Of course I imagined my wedding day going much, much different. Actually there is a lot I imagined going a lot differently. But in the craziest way this feels right and perfect.

It will just be us, our little family. And I'll be his wife. Hardin will be my husband.

I found the most perfect dress And it almost felt like it was waiting for me and meant to be. It was at this cute boutique I used to go to and it's all lace with a sheer white train. And the back laces up.

It is the most gorgeous day and I just am happy....so happy.

I get in the shower, get myself ready I want my make up to be perfect and I decided I am just going to wear my hair down. I want to still take his breath away as I walk down the "aisle". I want it to be perfect.

I found a sweet little white dress for Emery as well and since we really didn't tell anyone that we are doing this our nanny is going to walk her down the aisle as the flower girl.

After I am ready and she is ready. There is not much left to do other than say I do.

When I come out the first thing out of Vance's mouth is "wow you look stunning."

and then he tells me Hardin is waiting outside pacing around like a crazy person. He said he is really nervous which I think is super cute and sweet.

"Are you ready?" He asks me.

"Yea I think so." I reply. I am also nervous but very excited. I envisioned us writing our own vows and obviously there wasn't the time so I keep going over the things I want to say in my head and I'm hoping everything I want to say comes out right.

"Okay whenever you are ready." He tells me.

He had asked me if I wanted him to walk me down the aisle but I told him I would rather walk alone.

Which as I am standing here alone waiting to walk out there I am not sure if that was the best idea.

As I am waiting I hear music starting to play and it's the song 'home' by Edward sharpe and the magnetic zeroes but it's being playing by violins.

He got someone to play music for the ceremony...

I finally feel like its time. This is one of our favorite songs and the love of my life is waiting for me.

I even stopped at the florist who did up a white bouquet for me. So I grab the flowers and I start walking.

I hope he thinks I look okay...last minute and all but I hope I am still everything he pictured his bride to be....

The second I see him. I could see the tears in his eyes and that he has to choke them back.

I feel like it really is just me and him and no one else and nothing else matters. Our eyes don't leave each other and I feel the tears forming in my own eyes.

When I get up to the alter I hand my bouquet to our nanny and he grabs both of my hands he leans close into me and whispers "you took my breath away you look absolutely gorgeous"

"Thank you, you clean up nice. You really look handsome babe." I tell him. Because he does he is wearing a suit with a maroon under shirt and a black tie and he put on the boutonnière I got him.

I can tell he's really nervous even though it's just him and I.

After Vance goes through his whole opening remarks which were actually quite good given the short time he had to prepare. It's time for our vows. Vance has Hardin go first.

"Tessa, If I am being honest I never thought we would actually get here. You saw me at my worst and most weak moments and loved me anyway. When I thought I couldn't be fixed you fought for me anyway. When life through curveball after curveball you stuck by my side anyway. I had to at least touch on the fact that getting here wasn't easy. But one thing that's never changed is my love for you. I knew from the second we met that I was going to spend the rest of my life with you. That every second I have spent away from you I counted down the seconds until the next time I could see your beautiful face again. Tessa Young there is no one in this entire world who I love more than you. You are my fucking world...sorry I don't know if I am allowed to swear during this. But I vow to love you forever, through all the bullshit and I vow to be the best husband and the best father to Emery and our future children. And I'm just so fucking lucky you are mine. I love you." His vows I think were exactly what I expected and made me tear up. And now I have to go.

"Hardin, you are my best friend. The love of my life. The father of my child. The person who I want to wake up next to and fall asleep in your arms. You make me a better person and I've always been better with you than without. And with you is where I always want to be. I know life has worked really hard to pull us apart but our love has withstood the test of time and we have proven we are stronger than any force trying to tear us apart. I know you are my person, who I am meant to be with and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life showing you how lucky I am to be your wife. I am excited to grow old with you and experience new adventures with you. I know that you will be stubborn and fight me along the way but there is no one I'd rather fight with then you. You are my everything, my love, my heart, my soul and I vow to be the best wife I could be. I vow to be the most loving mother to our children. I vow to continue to push you and myself to always be better. I vow to be there through sickness and in health. And I vow to always put you first. Hardin, I love you and I couldn't be happier to see where our lives take us together." God I hope he liked them.

"I love you." He says back after I finish.

"Wow absolutely beautiful vows from both of you." Vance says.

"It is now time to exchange rings." Vance says.

Which that was something I completely forgot about.

"Hardin I'm sorry I don't have a ring for you." I interrupt.

Vance takes a paper clip off one of his papers and starts twisting it up.
"Here we will use this." He says.

"See perfect." Hardin says smiling.

"Tessa do you take Hardin to be your husband?" Vance asks me.

"I do." I reply with zero hesitation and he slips the ring onto my finger.

"Hardin do you take Tessa to be your wife?" Vance asks Hardin.

"Yes...I mean I do." He replies and I slip the paper clip ring onto his finger.

"By the power invested in me by the state of California and getordainedin5minutes.com I now pronounce you husband and wife...Mr. Scott you may kiss Mrs. Scott." Vance says.

And Hardin grabs me from behind my neck and pulls me in for the sweetest kiss and takes it one step further and dips me back which I was not expecting.

"For the very first time Mr. and Mrs. Scott." Vance says as I grab Emery and we each grab a Champaign glass Hardins is sparkling water of course and we toast to what just happened which was the best moment of my life...

"We did it, we're actually married." I say out loud as I go in to kiss my husband.

"That we did Mrs. Scott." He says as he kisses me back.
