Tessa-Present
Tomorrow is Kim & Vance's baby shower, which means I'm shopping downtown with Alex picking out an outfit to wear.
I know they didn't want to know what they're having, but I'm convinced it's a girl. So I have been gravitating towards pink as what I want to wear.
It's also mine and Easton's 1 month anniversary tomorrow.
And then this weekend is also fourth of July weekend. Which we were supposed to be going to his family's lake house. But his Dad surprised his mom with a last minute trip to Barcelona so we are staying in Seattle for the fourth instead.
Plus I didn't want to miss Kim's shower, and I thought it was too soon to be meeting his family anyways.
Even though things have been really great between us, I still want to take things slow.
"What do you think of this?" Alex asks holding up a mauve colored lace dress.
"Ohhh that's pretty, I'll try it on." I tell her.
I skim through a few more dresses and find a couple more that I like.
I take them to the dressing room and try about six dresses on and oddly enough I like the mauve lace one that Alex picked out the best.
We decide to go out for a drink and Alex has been begging me to go to one of those cool speakeasy bars so we decide on The Hideout. One, because she knows they don't card there and two because she has a crush on the bartender.
Which okay it is pretty cool. You go through a secret door and walk through what looks like a library filled with what appears to be old books. Which truly that's what has sparked my interest most.
The hostess tells us all the books up here are for sale and we are more than welcome to grab a cocktail then browse the books.
We get down to the bar part and it's giving very much underground, prohibition. Alcohol is illegal vibes. But it's cool. Really cool actually.
And of course they have all of these fancy cocktails that go with the theme.
"Ladies, what can I get you?" The bartender asks as he sets down two coasters in front of us.
"I'll take a Hemingway Daiquiri." Alex tells him confidently.
"Umm yea I'll do the same." I follow with.
"Coming right up." He replies.
And okay the bartender is pretty cute. I can understand why she would want to come here.
He brings us our drinks and we bring our glasses up and cheers.
One thing I will say is it's been really nice having a friend here in Seattle that has no ties to you know who.
I've been really enjoying having Alex as a roommate and also becoming really good friends.
Except as she drinks more she is focusing way more on the bartender and less and less on me.
Which is fine I know she likes him. It's just not the most fun when your left being the odd man out when they are very enthralled with each other.
"Hey Alex I'm going to go checkout the books upstairs." I tell her.
"Okay have fun." She replies barely looking in my direction.
I walk upstairs and I start looking through some of the books and I can't help but stop dead in my tracks when I come across 'Wuthering Heights'
Mind you I've been really good...not thinking about him. But it's in this moment that I'm transcended into a time where Hardin said 'whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same'
