Chapter 33

I wake up and Tessa is gone I look over at my phone and there is a text from her:
"Hey sorry I didn't want to wake you but I had to get to work"

"All good I'm going to head out in a few minutes, I just got up" I reply

Being with her last night was so fucking amazing. Our conversations got a little more intense then I would have liked but I guess that is to be expected.

But just being with her again felt amazing. I am hoping she is feeling that way and that I didn't drive her farther away from me by moving too fast when she said she wanted time.

I just missed her so much and her kissing me I couldn't stop myself.

I am suppose to meet Zed at the gym this morning and then we are talking about me possibly DJing at one of his venues.

I feel like I saw he was texting Tessa last night but I am not 100% sure and I didn't want to start a fight. Plus they are friends they can text. (Hard as fuck for me to tell myself that) but I'm trying here. Plus I basically made sure he would be around her so I can't be mad...right? Plus she's pregnant he wouldn't do anything....right?

When I get to the gym, Zed is there already. "Hey man" he says as he shakes my hand.

"What's up?" I reply.

"Not too much, I was going to do chest & back...that work for you?" He asks.

"Sounds good" I reply. You see at rehab working out was pretty much the only thing I did with my free time.

"I think you need to step it up Zed, I just had fucking cancer and can bench more then you." I say to him.

"Yea....whatever." He replies.

We continue to bullshit and then he asks me "what did you do last night?"

"I had dinner with Tessa" I reply.

"How was that?" He asks.

"It was good...just trying to get her to trust me again." I reply.

"Yea you definitely put her through some shit." He replies.

I just kind of nod as in to imply that I know.

"Nothing happened between you and Tessa, right?" I ask scared of the response.

"Nahhh man, nothing to worry about." He replies and I hate that I don't know if I should believe him or not.

But I know Tessa wouldn't do that to me.

"Okay sorry man, I just had to ask." I say to him.

"We are bros I got your back." He tries to assure me.

We finish up at the gym and head to his work. He was going to help me get studio time here so I can send demos to producers in LA and then also get me set up so I can start DJing local venues.

Vance has also been on me the past 2 days about meeting my sponsor so I am going to do that after getting everything set up with Zed.

Vance is also nervous about me being in clubs because he is nervous I am going to get myself in trouble. But I have been around it before and been fine when I was in recovery so I can do it again.

Zed finds me a gig tonight at one of his clubs he is a promoter at. Which I wasn't necessarily planning on starting right away but I guess no reason to wait either.

After getting that all figured out I go to a local coffee shop to meet my sponsor. His name is Connor. I don't think he is here yet, so I order myself a coffee black and have a seat at a table by myself.
