Chapter 150

Tessa-Present

"Vance!" I scream into the phone.

"Tess what's wrong?!!" He yells into the phone sensing my panic.

"He has Hardin....and he has a gun and....you have to help him Vance!" I manage to get out.

"Tess who has Hardin, where is he?!!!" He quickly questions.

"Adler, he's at the Hilton in Beverly Hills. You have to hurry." I tell him.

"Tessa call the police and I'll get there as soon as I can." Vance says to me and I hang up with him and call the cops.

They tell me they are on the way and I stay in my car until they get there.

Vance arrives just as the cops are. I quickly get out when I see him.

I rush into his arms and ball my eyes out.

I approach the cops letting them know I was the one who called them. They let me know they sent a unit up to the room.

I'm just praying to see Hardin in the next 5 minutes and just hold him and never let him go....

But that doesn't happen....

The cops come back and let me know the room is empty....

"No there's no way. Are you sure...room 604?" I question.

"Yes miss there was no one in that room." They tell me.

"He's planning on going to London....you have to check the airport." I tell them.

"We are telling airport security to be on the lookout and sending some of our men there to look for him." They tell Vance and I.

"We can't just sit around here not knowing if we are ever going to see him again." I say to Vance.

"Tess slow down. We are going to find him." Vance tries to assure me.

The cop who helped Hardin with the plan to take down Reed shows up to ask us a few questions.

"Can you explain who is this Adler and what he wants with your boyfriend?" The cop asks me.

"Umm husband....and he's his lawyer. And he said they have his family and the only way to get them back is to give them Hardin." I tell her.

"Who's them?" She asks me.

"Reed and whoever his people are I guess." I tell her.

"Okay so he plans on going to London with Hardin and using him to get his family back." She repeats.

"Yes." I respond.

"We are going to keep tabs on any outgoing flight to London so if they try to leave we will know about it." The cop tries to assure me.

And it should make me feel better knowing he can't leave but i have a pit in my stomach I am taken back to that last kiss and how much it felt like a last kiss. Like a goodbye I never wanted to have to say....

"Why don't you both go home and if we hear anything we will call you immediately." The cop tells us.

After some convincing we both agree and we head home with Emery. I call our nanny and have her come over so that if we need to leave she is at least there.

Vance and I keep going back and forth between a billion scenarios and he keeps trying to assure me he's going to be okay.

But he has no way to fight back. Adler has the gun and made sure Hardin couldn't go anywhere...
