there's nothing like
emptiness
that makes you feel numb
and there's nothing like
numbness
that makes you feel
like you're not
worth
anything
yet with all these
people around
i think i'll
just sigh
and choke it down
"I'm okay"

"I'm fine"

"Don't worry
about me"
(don't
forget
about me)
i'm tired of feeling empty
i'm tired of being numb
i'm tired of sadness
i'm tired of anger
i'm tired of hate
i'm tired of being tired
there's no softer pillow
than mine
after a long day
after all
this time
i think about a pillow
that isn't mine yet
a lot
and maybe i'm
ready
to find that pillow
it's a little
more
permanent
than mine
if I fall asleep
i beg you
let me sleep
let me dream
let me rest
for a while
and then a little more
than a while
i'm just so tired
of everything
and everyone.
i'd like to curl up
and sleep
for a very
very
long
time.
