there's this ice wall between us
i think it's been building up for a while now
but there was a time when our honesty
and determination to make things normal
melted it down some
i could feel your warmth almost
(maybe i just imagined it)
but then something changed
our hearts both turned cold again
and the ice refroze and the snow fell
our apathy towards each other impaled us like icicles
our breath was the only bit of warmth
but we're both breathing for other people
the fog of our breath clouding our vision
the goosebumps that run up and down our spines
cause us to shiver away from each other
we let the frostbite eat away at our friendship
and now what are we left with?
