you can't see jealousy
and you can feel it
but it's not some ugly monster
there are no creeping, dripping vines
that want to choke you and squeeze the life out of you
jealousy doesn't have fangs
that sink into your skin
jealousy is a cloud
it's everywhere at once
you breathe it in and you can't cough it out
it's choking you by filling your lungs
depriving you of oxygen
it's all around you
on every inch of your skin
no matter where you walk
no matter where you run
jealousy will take your heart
and ignite it
burning green
you can't fight jealousy
it's ugly air particles are indestructible
all you can do is smile
and pretend you aren't jealous
(but you oh
dammit how jealous you are)
