we crave tears
we demand for you to make us feel
make us sob, gut wrenching sobs
that cause us to seizure on the floor
make us gaze in open mouthed shock
make us pause to catch our breath
make us shiver and tremble
in desire and pleasure
make us think, questioning everything
we ever knew to be true and absolute
make us ragerageragerage
make us scream and shout and cry
and make us beg for more
make us feel
that's why we consume your words
like drugs
a needle straight to the soul
we all want to feel something
we want stories that expand our imagination
and captivate our attention
we want poetry that make us appreciate
the beauty in the little things
we are all lined up on a conveyor belt
ready to be stamped with emotion
the factory of pages and the machines
of sentences and phrases
make us feel
tell us about your self harm, self hate
tell us about death and tragedy
loss and pain
but make it look beautiful
in all it's raw fury
we don't want a happy ending
not to your story, please
we.want.to.feel.
because sometimes feelings
are so hard to come by
and maybe deep down
we feel the same as you
and we want to know
we're a little less alone
