my cold feet
have me frozen to the floor
my heart is beating too fast
my hands sweaty and stiff
i'm nervous
i don't want to mess this up
the butterflies in my stomach
have blades for wings
i'm nervous and excited
but this also is painful
because it means i have to let go
of a lot of things i don't want to let go
