darkness, thick and silent
a temptation, luring me to sleep
light threatens to expose
all the secrets we wanted to keep
all the memories better left forgotten
darkness isn't my enemy
no battles are fought at night
with dark there is peace, with light there is war
darkness wraps you in its lonely arms tight
and maybe then you're not as lonely as before
