in sweet words and soft touches
cover my eyes so i won't see
that you're not what i need you to be
the world is ugly and gray and cruel
darkness and evil will always rule

because what i can't see can't hurt me

i'll say something bad that'll ruin everything
my words will cut us both like knives

i'd do something other than start an argument
silence is key sometimes

don't let me listen to the dirty lies

because every time i hear something a part of me dies
because i know every word is true
