you and I come from two
different worlds, different places
And you taught me that
things are rough all over
in some ways,
something as bleak as that
can be a silver lining
you always see the good in people,
cherry (red)
you always saw the good in me,
cherry (red)
you saw me as gold
even when I wasn't
you thought that I digged okay
(you dig okay, too)
nobody really got me talking
until I met you
you dig sunsets, too
that's tuff, a good tuff
and even though you and I
come from two different worlds
it's nice to know
that they're not so different
because the sunset is still the same
you can see the sunset real good
from the west side
and you can see it real good
from the east side
watch the sunset, cherry red
"so dawn goes down to day.
nothing gold can stay."
I'll stay golden
but I can't stay
don't stay gold, stay red
cherry, fiery, passionate red
the best color of all
