you're an angel
to me
the smoke from your cigarette
is the only air I can breathe
the bruises on your mind
from the past you can't let go
I'd carry it for you if you'd let me
but you already know
that
don't you?
little angel,
delicate
those little red ribbons
lined up on your wrist
are just feathers
trying to grow in
put down the blade,
they'll grow in on their own
you have to give it time
and then you'll have wings
like me
(but yours are feathery
mine a tough dark leather
we may be an angel and a demon
but I swear on heaven and hell
we'll stick together)
angel,
I know it's cold
you're so cold inside
it hurts,
I know
but little angel
where I come from it's warm
so I'm always so warm
let me keep you warm
your halo is crooked,
because you like to dance
and you dance
like it's the last thing you'll do
such passion
sweet angel,
why are you so kind to me?
I'm fallen
you still have a chance
you survive on light and air
I survive on darkness
but we both need
to eat sometime
you're beautiful,
like all angels should be
you're hair is so long
like angel hair should be
you're not unclaimed,
because
I love you
and
you're mine
please
my angel
don't go up to heaven so soon
I don't know
if I could go there, too
