darling,
I'm just a little gray bird
tiny and shivering
in this cold, cold world
my feathers are dull
and honey, I'm tired
too tired to fly
off into the sunset with you
darling,
I'm just a little gray bird
my little gray wing
is broken
like my heart and my mind
I'm an old bird
I've flown all over
I've seen the world
and now I just want to stay
in my cold little corner
and sleep
for a very, very long time
darling,
I'm a little gray bird
why do you waste your love on me?
why do you waste your time on me?
I'm nothing special
just a soft gray color
and a small black beak
there's prettier birds out there
who are stronger and better
than me
darling,
I'm just a little gray bird
and you're such a pretty blue
such a vivid red
such a bright and happy yellow
darling,
I'm just a little gray bird
sad and lonely
shivering in my corner
of this cold, cold world
