a ghost:
stares at me and cries
(haunting me)
tells me "it's our little secret"
(haunting me)
takes my hand to show me the birds
(haunting me)
screams she hates me
(haunting me)
asks me, "you sure you want this?"
(haunting me)
hands me a pen and tells me to write
(haunting me)
asks me why I tried to die
(haunting me)
whispers "look what you did to me"
(haunting me)
calls me daddy
(haunting me)
refuses to meet my eye
(haunting me)
bribes me with promises
(haunting me)
takes a blade to her skin
(haunting me)
hits me overandoverandover
(haunting me)
says "if we die we die together"
(haunting me)
pulls the trigger
(haunting me)
jumps in the water asks me to come
(haunting me)
"ever been with a girl before?"
(haunting me)
hold me for hours "whywhywhy"
(haunting me)
licks her lips and I can't stop staring
(haunting me)
flips through a magazine, laughing
(haunting me)
shouts "stop protecting him!"
(haunting me)
wonders why I quit the team
(haunting me)
laughs and dances around the room
(haunting me)
"I'm not that drunk, gimme the keys"
(haunting me)
kisses me and smiles
(haunting me)
puts a hand over mine and shows me
(haunting me)
"rocky road's my favourite flavour"
(haunting me)
cries out in the dark
(haunting me)
shakes the bag, asking how long
(haunting me)
begs me to give him back the needle
(haunting me)
tells me there are other ways to pay
(haunting me)
"happiness isn't real"
(haunting me)
waits for me
(haunting me)
can't believe he's really gone
(haunting me)
"you fool people by acting stupid"
(haunting me)
call me and tells me we'll talk again
(haunting me)
asks me to give Steve a chance
(haunting me)
slaps me for making my mother cry
(haunting me)
begs me to try, to think it over
(haunting me)
"I need to tell you..i'm sick"
(haunting me)
takes a shaky step onto the ice
(haunting me)
"you're a genius, but you lack drive"
(haunting me)
points to the places we'll go
(haunting me)
"I can't read you."
(haunting me)
"we'll call ourselves the adventurers"
(haunting me)
curls up in a corner, sipping tea
(haunting me)
I am haunted.
