10 - Try It Out

The day was ending in Liyue Harbor, and with it brought warm colours to prepare the city for the night.

The two blue haired boys had spent their day together, and were ending it at Chongyun's usual training spot.

Xingqiu closed the book he had finished reading aloud to them both and held it close to his stomach as he lay against the other's shoulder, resting his eyes along with the setting sun.

Most moments, Xingqiu was chatting away about the newest books he had purchased, or new leads that always suspiciously ended in failure. But occasionally, he was calm and silent, and these moments were Chongyun's favorites.

The ones where he could simply gaze upon the other's features and admire him and the fact that he was his, all the while the day's forecast would cast shadows and soften his features to create a work of art like no other.

Lost in the moment, he gave him a quick kiss and rested his own head upon the other's.

Meanwhile Xingqiu's face was aflame with all the hues in the sky.

"You kissed me." He announced loudly to them both, sitting up fast.

"O-oh, was that too forward? I just thought since you do it all the time-"

"Yun, this is the first time you've kissed me." He said louder, with even more shock and giddy surprise in his voice.

"It is?" Chongyun asked. Now that he thought about it, he'd always been on the receiving end of Xingqiu's affection, always being the one awarded kisses, hugs, compliments and smiles rather than the other way around.

Don't get him wrong, Chongyun did show his affection for him as well, but physical affection just wasn't his forte, something he was never skilled enough in to do back.

Any time he thought about giving the other a kiss, he remembered how inexperienced he was, and the thought was then buried back where it once was before he found it again later.

This time though, he'd just simply lost himself in the moment and didn't even think about what he was doing. He was secretly proud of himself, even if he didn't show it.

"Yes, I would recall if you'd done anything like that before, my liege. And, if you don't mind, could you... do it again?" Xingqiu asked, his voice getting quieter and blending into the scenery as he spoke on.

"You want me to kiss you again? But why?"

"Because I've never gotten this kind of affection from you before. I think it's a big step, and, as long as you don't mind, I'd like to experience it again."

Chongyun stared down at the tassel on his belt, trying to distract himself while he calmed his constitution.

"Okay." He hummed at last, turning his body to face the other.

Xingqiu smiled happily at him and excitedly closed his eyes, relaxing his features and leaning forward a bit.

"What am I supposed to do? What does Xingqiu normally do?" Chongyun thought, unsure of how to go about this.

He tilted the other's chin up to face him better, and let his other hand wander to Xingqiu's, all the while his heart beating faster and faster.

"Archons, does Xingqiu feel this way every time?" His mind yelled.

Without delaying the inevitable any further, he stopped the sunlight from streaming between their faces, placing his lips on his and relaxing himself just as Xingqiu would.

It wasn't long before Xingqiu took hold of the situation like usual, and guided the other along throughout the duration of the kiss.

With the way he would move back for a moment before putting his lips back and continued to lean forward, it left Chongyun not wanting to lose against him, though he knew he had to be careful not to upset his constitution too much.

By the end of it, he was out of breath and he knew Xingqiu was too, though he was better at hiding it.

Both just looked at the other while the sun disappeared for good that night, taking in what had just happened.

Finally, Xingqiu's face cracked into a smile and he wrapped his arms around the other's middle with a giggle.

"Thank you, Chongyun. Y'know, for, ehem, the kiss." Xingqiu said, even though they both knew it was way more than one.

Chongyun rested his head upon Xingqiu's. "Mmph. You're welcome. But I don't know if I'm confident to do that again."

"That's alright, you can take it at your own pace! And you know I won't mind, just as long as it's not around my brother. I'll never hear the end of it if he sees." Xingqiu shakes his head against the other's chest.

"I won't. Promise." Chongyun agrees, returning the embrace at last.

"Good. Hehe."
