Chongyun had a dilemma.

Not a problem, or a troubling situation, or even an issue.

After careful inspection and intense thought, he had deemed this clearly as a dilemma, since it was so increasingly troubling for him.

The dilemma in question, was that Xingqiu had recently been reading romance novels, unlike the usual adventure books he did.

Now normally this would only be a problem because he knew Xingqiu fully intended on having Chongyun read them to him, most likely to try and get a reaction out of him (Chongyun, for one, didn't mind this anymore because Xingqiu's excitement to seeing him flustered was worth it.)

But now, he was wondering if maybe Xingqiu was reading these kinds of books because he had a 'type', and maybe he liked to read about it.

This troubled Chongyun because he almost wondered if Xingqiu was dropping hints about what he liked in a guy, and his developing crush on Xingqiu was making him wonder if he was the exact opposite of what Xingqiu was attracted to.

"He's so thoughtful and caring for him, always asking if there's anyway he can help or if he's okay. In one chapter, he even goes to his place in the pouring rain just to bring him the work he forgot at his job." Xingqiu explains, drumming his fingers on the cover of the book before his eyes widen and he flips through the pages.

They were out reading because Xingqiu deemed the weather too warm for training (a lie, but no one cared to confront it), and he was going over the characters with great excitement.

"Oh oh, and there's this one part that I really like, when he meets him in the street while he's leaving town for one of his missions. He's so overly charismatic and teasing, and then paired with the fact he has to keep a straight face while going off to speak with his clients despite it all-"

Xingqiu sighs and leans back, clearly suppressing a large smile. "I wish I could wipe my memory so I could read this book for the first time again. It was so good!"

"It sure sounds like it." Chongyun nods, taking in this new information. 'So he likes thoughtful and charismatic guys. I can do that, right?' He thinks before he feels Xingqiu lay his head on his shoulder and waved the book in front of him, holding onto his arm with the other.

"Matter of fact, I think you might enjoy it too, or at least find a fascination for this author's writing, and I'd love to hear it all again regardless. Would you read it to me?" He asks sweetly, coating his words in that sickeningly sugary voice he always does when he wants something from Chongyun.

Chongyun presses his lips tightly together and takes the book from Xingqiu's hand, flipping it open. They both know he can't refuse anything Xingqiu asks of him. "Okay, but just the first chapter today." He says while Xingqiu cuddles up to him further.

"Of course, of course. Thank you Yun~!" He nods.

'He's able to be charismatic so easily, surely it can't be that hard. I should just follow his example.' Chongyun nods as he starts reading.

'It might have to wait until I'm not as close to him though...don't want to overheat.'

He goes on to read the first chapter, and then the next four after that (again, he can never say no to Xingqiu) before he goes home and starts thinking of what he could do to appeal more to him.

Surely none of this would backfire.

"Good morning, my liege. You said you had plans for us today? I'm rather intrigued~" Xingqiu grins as he approaches his best friend. "I don't believe I can handle the suspense anymore, what are we doing?"
