61 - What You're Thinking

This is a soulmate au I thought of (idk if it's been done before but whatever) so here's the explanation:

Soulmate au where you get your soulmate's name on your wrist, but with a twist.
The first person to like the other doesn't get a soulmate mark, but the second person does once they start liking them back. For example, if Person A likes Person B, Person A won't have a soulmate mark. Once Person B likes Person A though, Person B will have Person A's name on their wrist.

The other thing about this soulmate au is that whoever has the soulmate mark on their wrist can hear all the thoughts of the other person, but only the thoughts that have something to do with them (person with the soulmate mark)

Chongyun had come to the realization that he liked Xingqiu about a week ago. He knew that this meant he was either due for a soulmate mark, or a dreadful lack there of in the very near future.

Towards the end of the week, he and Xingqiu were out taking a break from training by doing what Xingqiu had suggested: reading, of course.

"Before we begin, we should get comfortable first. Reading uncomfortably is simply no fun." Xingqiu starts.

He pulls Chongyun's down to lay on his shoulder, and Chongyun averts his eyes and buries his head so Xingqiu can't see his blush.

"Hehe. Yun's so cute when he's embarrassed~"

"Huh?" Chongyun asks, sitting up to look at Xingqiu.

"Hmm? I didn't say anything my leige." Xingqiu frowns.

"O-oh, okay. I'm gonna get up and stretch for a bit before we sit down real quick." Chongyun says hurriedly, getting up to go somewhere else.

"Okay, but come back soon!"

Chongyun tears off his glove once he's sure he's out of sight and looks at his wrist.

Sure enough, there's Xingqiu's name printed on his wrist in curly black writing, and he realizes what this means.

Whatever Xingqiu thinks about him, he can hear it.

...

Which means that Xingqiu thinks he's cute when he's embarrassed.

And he internally calls him Yun for short.

"I hope I didn't make him uncomfortable...did I? Drat, I should do well to be more careful in the future. How else am I going to win his heart?"

Chongyun blushes from hearing Xingqiu's voice in his head and rushes back to their reading spot, resuming his position on Xingqiu's shoulder.

If he was being honest, He liked being able to rest against him. It felt nice to feel the rise and fall of Xingqiu's breathing, so much so that it almost lulled him to sleep.

"I'm glad you're back Chongyun." Xingqiu smiles while he grabs a couple of books.

"Glad I didn't make him uncomfortable..."

"Now, I'd like you to pick one of these two." Xingqiu says, presenting him with two different novels.

Chongyun holds the first one in his left hand and looks it over, before taking a look at the second one in his right hand.

"Please pick the second one, please pick the second one!"

"Uh...this one?" Chongyun says, handing him the second book. He was curious why Xingqiu wanted him to read it so badly.
