Chongyun had a dilemma, and quite a distressing one at that.

After some intense thinking, he had decided to let Xingqiu in on it because, well, it involved him.

"Hey Xingqiu?" He asks to gain the other's attention.

Despite there being nothing to be anxious about, Chongyun finds himself sitting up a little straighter and struggling to keep the overwhelming feeling from bothering him much.

"Yes, my liege?" Xingqiu hums, looking up from his novel and tucking his thumb in between the pages.

Once he has Xingqiu's attention, he expects to be able to say exactly what he needs to, but despite this, he still feels his mouth go dry and that the words are suddenly scattered on the grass.

"I-um, I don't..." he mumbles, trying to recollect his thoughts.

"Yes?" Xingqiu asks in confusion, blowing strands of hair out of his face.

As soon as Xingqiu speaks again, it's like his mind has been restored, and all the words seem to be printed in bold right in front of him.

"I've noticed how my condition is always acting up whenever I'm around you." He starts. "My face always feels hot, and I'm always too warm, and I don't know why."

That's it. He's done it. Xingqiu probably has no idea what he's talking about right now and is wondering what the heck he's talking about.

In reality though, Xingqiu has covered his face with the pages of his book, gripping the novel a touch too tightly.

"Well, *ahem*," he lowers the book to show his eyes, shyly averting his gaze. "I believe I know why."

"Really? What is it?"

Do you know what a crush is?"

Chongyun nodded.

"Mmhm, and what are the symptoms of a crush?"

"Your face feels hot, you think about them a lot, your stomach feels weird, and-"

He stopped to let a new shade a red cover his cheeks and quietly gasp.

"I...have a crush. On you." He repeated back to himself.

"It appears so."

Chongyun buries his head in his hands, his voice coming out as a muffled groan. "I'm so sorry Xingqiu."

Xingqiu scoots a bit closer and rests his head on his shoulder. "Don't be. I've fallen victim to it as well."

"You...like me too?"

"Of course." He smiles. "And actually, it's not a bad feeling. Maybe it's just the tension of knowing how much you love them that makes the feeling uncomfortable, since you feel you can't say anything."

Chongyun sits up and holds out his hand. "I think you're right. At least, it isn't as confusing as it was before."

"You mean you not understanding you had a crush on me?" Xingqiu laughed, taking his hand.

"Let's just move on." He blushes.
