Steadying himself from being bumped into, Chongyun looked down at the little girl that had run into him. She looked up at him in fear, looking like she might burst into tears any second.

"Are you okay?" Chongyun asked her slowly.

"N-no, I lost my m-mom!" She bawled, holding fistfuls of her dress in her hands.

Chongyun panicked watching her cry, his blue eyes widening. He had no idea what to do, he'd never been in a situation like this.

"U-umm-"

"Chongyun! Did you make this child cry?"

Xingqiu approached the both of them, his hands on his hips and shaking his head jokingly.

"N-no, I was just-"

"I'm just kidding, Yun! Now then, what seems to be the matter?" He crouched down to her level and asked her.

"I lost m-my mom!" She said again.

"We can help you find her. What does she look like?" Xingqiu asked.

"Sh-she has long black hair, and she wears a long d-dress." She sniffled, leading them in one direction. "And I last saw her over here."

"Alright then. Let's set off and see if we can't find anyone who meets that description." He nodded to her and the other boy.

The three of them walked while Xingqiu calmed her down and asked her questions to keep her busy while they searched.

"Mister, what is that?" She asked at one point, pointing to the popsicle Chongyun was holding.

"Oh, this? It's a popsicle. It doesn't taste like anything though." He told her.

"Can I have one?" She asked excitedly.

Chongyun nervously glanced at them both, before debating whether or not to give his last one away. "Okay. You can have it while we look for your mom. We shouldn't be that long anyways, so I'll get more after." He told her.

He passed the untouched popsicle off to her and held out his parasol instead, earning an approving smile from Xingqiu. "Great job, Yunyun. You're actually pretty good with children."

"I just gave her my popsicle to keep her happy, that's all. No need to acknowledge it."

"Oh, but it was selfless and heroic! All good qualities to look for in a person." Xingqiu joked, leaning on the other's shoulder.

"Are you his girlfriend?" The little girl asked him.

"A-am I...what?" Xingqiu questioned, taken aback.

"Are you his girlfriend? You act like my older sister around hers." She told him while she happily ate the popsicle.

"Well Xingqiu?" Chongyun asked him, quickly making the other more embarrassed.

"I-I'm afraid I'm not a girl, I'm a boy." He explained to her.

"Ohhh, I got it. So you're his boyfriend?" She asked genuinely.

Before either of the boys could react, the little girl's eyes lit up when she noticed something in the distance. "Mom, mom!" She yelled, running towards her and hugging her legs.

"I've been looking for you everywhere! How did you find me?" Her mother asked, picking her up.

"The nice boy in white gave me a popsicle, and he and his nice boyfriend helped me look for you!" She told her happily.

"Oh!" She made eye contact with the two, both of their faces bright red.  "Why thank you, both of you!" She told them.

"A-actually, we're not-"

"No problem, miss. Our pleasure." Xingqiu said, cutting him off.

"Byeeee!" The little girl waved as her mom and her left.

"So...boyfriends, huh?" Xingqiu smirked, nudging the other.

"C-c'mon, let's just go get more popsicles." Chongyun said quietly, grabbing Xingqiu by the hand and starting towards Wanmin Restaurant.

Startled at first, Xingqiu fully clasped their hands together. "Gladly, my liege."
