After a meeting with one of his father's clients, Xingqiu skipped through Liyue Harbor in search of one of his friends to hang out with.

"Let's see...Traveler is stuck in Inazuma at the moment, Xiangling and Hu Tao are working, Xinyan is preparing for a concert... perhaps my dearest companion is free for the day!" Xingqiu told himself excitedly as he continued down by docks.

At the very end of the dock, he recognized the familiar white and blue-clad exorcist he called his beloved, already thinking of things they could do.

"Hmm..maybe I could pick out a romance novel for us to read~" he smiled mischievously to himself.

The nearer he approached the other boy, the more he could hear his mutterings, and he slowed down his steps to quietly come up to him.

"Chong...yun?" He asked curiously, titling his head to the side and crouching down to where the cryo user sat with his legs above the water.

The blue eyed boy looked up at him with brimming tears in his eyes that he quickly wiped away with his thumb and refocused his attention on the hydro user.

"Oh, hi Xingqiu. Did you need something? If you have more leads for me, I'm afraid I'm not quite in the mood today." He said quietly.

"Chongyun, we both know there's something you're keeping from me, and it's clearly bothering you to an extreme extent. What is it?" He asked, poking the other's cheek with his index finger and sitting beside him.

He took a deep breath and looked down at the water, watching his legs sway back and forth. "I-... I'm never going to be a real exorcist, am I?" He said, his voice cracking slightly.

"Oh Yun, that's not true! Just because-"

"My condition makes it so that I never have to actually work hard for any of this, and it feels so awful. There's no point in trying so hard to fix something I can't and be someone I'll never be." He explained angrily, not bothering to calm himself down.

"Because of it, I can't do my job normally, or act normally, or love you normally, or even eat normally, I can't even-!"

During his heated rant, Xingqiu moved his hand on his and rubbed circles on his skin, making Chongyun stop talking to watch the motion.

"What shape am I drawing, Yun?" He asked him calmly.

"A circle." Chongyun responded, wiping a spare tear that escaped from his eye with his wrist.

"And this one?"

"A triangle."

"Mm?"

"A square."

"And the last one?"

"...A heart."

"I know you can barely ever allow your true emotions to escape and you get upset at yourself when they do, but being emotional is human, and finding a controlled way to unleash them is part of it for you."

Chongyun rested his head on Xingqiu's shoulder and shook slowly while Xingqiu continued to rub his hand.

"I know you feel like you can never do anything normally and you feel like it's holding you back, but I wanted to remind you that you can always talk to me about it. You could even talk to Xiangling about it, she's more than understanding." Xingqiu continued.

"I think for how much you strive towards your goal, you'll definitely find a solution one day, and I'll be with you the whole way there."

"So, I don't hold you back or anything?" Chongyun asked him.

"Oh course not! Even if we can't do anything heat related together, I enjoy all the other things we do, like adventuring or trying cold foods. Not to mention the way that you love me is unique, and I've never resented it once. You show it in quieter, often unspoken ways, and I just think you're so incredible for it."

"Do you really think that?" He sniffled.

"Of course." Xingqiu nodded, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

"Thank you Xingqiu, I really needed to get that off my chest. Ugh, but I have a headache now from crying... is that normal?" He asked.

"Very normal. Should we go get some popsicles from Wanmin Restaurant? They should make you feel better." Xingqiu suggested, standing up.

Chongyun stood up with him and held his hand. "Yes please."
