Xingqiu didn't often feel like the only one who wasn't in on something. He was usually always the one orchestrating that something (usually a little prank on Chongyun or finding a way to get out of studying), but right now he was anything but, because he was approaching a table with four familiar girls and one big whopping secret he wasn't allowed to know.

"Did Chongyun ask you about it too?" Xiangling stares wide eyed at Hu Tao while she gingerly wiped her mouth with a napkin.

"Mmhmm! He asked me and Yan-Yan on our walk earlier." She gives Xiangling a smile.

"We pretty much had the same answer for him, but he seemed pretty satisfied with our response regardless." Yanfei shrugs, tucking a piece of tofu into her mouth before placing a hand over her lips while she chews.

"Yeah, when he came to me he seemed pretty excited, or as much as the dude can be." Xinyan chuckles, sipping out of her glass.

"I noticed that too. I hope it all goes well for him!" Xiangling smiles at the other girls, all nodding in agreement.

"What are you all talking about if I may inquire?" Xingqiu asks, approaching the table.

Immediately, everyone gives each other glances out of the corners of their eyes, and Xingqiu instantly has an uneasy feeling he's not familiar with.

"Chongyun came and asked us all a question earlier, that's all." Yanfei speaks first, poking at her food with her chopsticks before taking another slow bite.

"What did he ask?" Xingqiu raises an eyebrow at their quietness. The table had been lively chatting away before, but now it just felt like he was intruding.

"He wanted advice." Hu Tao says, flashing him a mischievous grin before Yanfei nudges her.

"...Advice on what?" He asks exasperately. For once when there was all this talk about Chongyun, Chongyun, Chongyun, he wasn't the center of it, or even just apart or it. Not that he had to be, it's just...he usually was.

Everyone at the table avoids his gaze and looks down at their food or elsewhere, pretending he hadn't asked anything at all. Xinyan whistles an upbeat tune and Hu Tao raps her fingers on the table, her nails clicking against the wood to ignore the tension.

Xiangling nervously takes a spoonful of her soup while patting Guoba on the head, rapidly tapping her foot against the ground. Everyone knew that Xiangling had a hard time keeping secrets, since she didn't like keeping them in the first place, and especially since Xingqiu was her friend, it was even worse.

"Xiangling?" He asks looking directly at her and she immediately freezes. He knows it's cheap prying it out of her since he knows she'll crack, but he was getting annoyed that no one else was giving him an answer.

The other girls look at her with a don't say anything look, and Yanfei gives her a stern glance from across the table.

"I-I, uh," Xiangling mumbles, her face getting red with all the attention on her. Guoba looks up at her worriedly, and it seems like everyone's warnings almost work until she takes a quick glance at Xingqiu and she breaks. "Chongyun has a crush on someone and he wanted advice on how to confess!"

All the girls sigh in disappointment while Xiangling immediately apologizes, Guoba sympathetically going up on his tiptoes to pat her on the leg.

"Why wasn't I allowed to know that?" Xingqiu looks at them all, trying not to sound as hurt as he felt.

"Because he's going around asking everyone himself, and he doesn't want the person he likes to find out." Xinyan says, patting Xiangling's hand on the table sympathetically.
