Another hot day prompted Chongyun to have a popsicle, and unfortunately for him, it prompted Xingqiu as well.

Chongyun holds the icy treat before himself, waiting until he and Xingqiu are out of the hot sun and behind most of the buildings in Liyue Harbor before going to take a bite when Xingqiu slips it out of his grasp out of sheer curiosity.

"H-hey!" Chongyun exclaims, making a move to grab it. Unfortunately, Xingqiu was faster.

"How are these made again? Didn't you say that Xiangling makes them for you?" Xingqiu asks while he walks off with Chongyun in tow.

"Yes, she does, now can I please-"

"What do they taste of again? I don't believe I ever found out." He stops and smirks at the exorcist, and Chongyun's frustration grows once he knows he's only fascinated because he's trying to tease him again.

"Give it back." He states, a clear look of annoyance on his face paired with an outstretched hand.

"Ah ah ah! You haven't answered my question!" Xingqiu tuts and pouts as if he were genuinely upset.

Chongyun doesn't really care for his antics today (nor does he any day, really) and takes a step towards him to try and retrieve his popsicle. This pushes Xingqiu to take a step back as well, and they just continue to walk back while Xingqiu keeps up his facade.

"Dear Chongyun, I'm merely curious! However do you keep them cold all day?" He smiles cheerfully, his eyes playful and knowing.

"My vision, you know this already." Chongyun says and stops walking.

Xingqiu's a bit confused as to why he stopped when his back hits a wall, and suddenly his stomach fills with dread knowing he's hit a dead end.

He tries to carefully slip around the other boy, but Chongyun's quick to put a hand on the wall next to him, and then on the other side.

Now carefully trapped (and effectively pinned against the wall), Xingqiu holds the popsicle as close as possible without tarnishing it. He was going to give it back, truly he was, but sometimes even he got carried away with his own games.

He struggles to think of his next words with the exorcist glaring at him and standing this close, with his pretty blue bangs and curls cupping his face, and his nice blue eyelashes, and were his eyes always that blue?

"Well?" Chongyun asks him while leaning closer, and Xingqiu can feel his face heat up at his lowered voice.

"Such an interesting position you seem to have me in, Yun. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you have means to kiss me." He smiles big, knowing saying such a thing would easily embarrass him and he may even back down.

Chongyun's yang energy seems to be reaching it's limit however, and he doesn't, instead giving an odd response. "Will you give it back if I will?"

Xingqiu's praying Chongyun can't hear his heart through his chest as it was beating abnormally loud, and musters the last of his cool, collected facade to answer him. "I suppose you'll just have to find out."

The very last thing Xingqiu had expected him to do (ironically enough,) was to actually kiss him, so when Chongyun does he's in so much shock that he doesn't know what to do for once.

One thing he did know was that he really wanted to kiss him back, because he'd be lying if he said he'd never once thought about kissing Chongyun. Did he think it kind of weird given they're just friends and also both boys? Maybe, but seeing as Xingqiu also had the biggest crush on him and had for years, it made more sense to him why.

He decides to give in just this once, to allow Chongyun to 'win' his game if he so wished (which he very much did). He kissed him back, even going to caress his check with his free hand.

While he's well distracted, Chongyun takes his popsicle from Xingqiu's hand against the wall, but doesn't back down from kissing him.

Xingqiu really couldn't care less if he'd taken it or not; he didn't want to break the kiss yet, and it seemed that Chongyun didn't either.

Xingqiu had noticed how his friend seemed to calm down significantly during their kiss, and wondering if it was almost a means of cooling down or letting out energy for him.

He'd planned on asking him later, but for now he settled for kissing him until they were both well out of breath.

"You win." Xingqiu nods in congratulations, a heavy blush still evident on his cheeks.

"Good." Chongyun closes his eyes and lowers his hands from beside Xingqiu.

They both take a minute to catch their breath, and Xingqiu's about to ask him some questions when they're interrupted.

"Uhhh... I'm not sure what I just walked into, but I'll leave you to it." Xiangling says, standing at the far end of the alley with Guoba at her side.

"W-wait, it's not what it looks like!" Chongyun waved his hands in embarrassment before he falters a bit. "I mean, it is, but-"

"You don't have to explain it. If you wanted to kiss Xingqiu that badly, then... go for it I guess. Took you two long enough."

She shrugs and walks away, leaving the two boys to revel in complete embarrassment.

"What did you mean it's not what it looks like?" Xingqiu asks him, afraid of the honest answer.

"I'm not sure what I meant, I kind of just said it to try and have this make more sense than us just kissing each other because I don't really know what just happened either." Chongyun sighs.

"More like making out." Xingqiu mumbles quiet enough that Chongyun can't hear it. "Did you want the kiss to be for real?

Chongyun easily blushes and looks away. "What do you think?"

"Judging by your reaction, yes, which makes me wonder if you'd object to kissing me again." Xingqiu smiles playfully at him.

"Maybe later, my yang energy is too high right now and I need to cool off, it's really hot outside."

"Understandable. We'll pick the topic up later then."

Before they leave so Chongyun can rest for a while, he gives Xingqiu a kiss on the cheek to satisfy him before turning on his heel, and even though he can't see it, Xingqiu looks after him smittenly and follows.
