Chongyun hadn't seen or heard of his boyfriend for 3 days, and he was starting to get worried something had happened to him.

Xingqiu usually found a way to see him everyday, or at least relay a message to him when he was really busy, so not hearing anything from him was very unusual.

On the third day after his training, he went to Xingqiu's house and knocked on the door, praying he was okay.

Luckily for him, Xingqiu soon opened the door in black shorts and one of Chongyun's shirts that was a little too big for him, his hair a mess and looking less lively than usual.

"Oh, hello dear Chongyun. How can I help you?" He smiled tiredly.

"I haven't seen you in a few days, so I just wanted to check up on you." Chongyun admitted.

"Why that very kind of you, my liege. Other than this illness I've come down with, I'd say I'm quite alright." Xingqiu assured him.

"That basically means you're not okay." He raised an eyebrow. "Do you mind if I come in?"

"I suppose not. Do be careful though, I wouldn't want you to get sick either."

Chongyun nodded and entered the house, looking sadly at Xingqiu as he sat in the corner of the couch and rested his head on one of the pillows.

"I'm gonna get you some water, okay? Just take it easy for now."

Before Xingqiu could respond, Chongyun went back to his kitchen to pour him a glass of water and presented him with it, waiting until he'd drank half of it to sit on the chair next to the couch.

"Did that help a little?"

"My throat feels a little better. I'm still rather tired though." Xingqiu sighed. "Too bad it's been that way lately, because of it I've barely had time to read."

"Where's your book, Xingqiu?"

"Huh?"

"I'll...read to you right now if you'd like."

Xingqiu peeked his head over the pillow to gaze at him. "Really?"

"Mmhm."

It's the dark gray one on my nightstand."

Chongyun quickly headed up to his room and took the book, bringing it back down to see the other boy curled up on the couch.

"Do you want a blanket?"

"I'm alright, it's too hot for one. I just want to hear your voice." He smiled. Even while he was sick, he was still able to make him flustered.

The exorcist cleared his throat and started reading where Xingqiu left off while the other closed his eyes and listened.

He hoped that Xingqiu would get better soon. Even if it meant dealing with his teasings again, it also meant he'd have all his energy back. And Chongyun would be lying if he said he didn't like him exactly like that.
