The sun was blocked by clouds, giving a momentary shade to the hardworking men on the construction site. Everyone was busy and so was Yang Jeongin whose work was even double for he was the head of the workers.
After that dreadful night, Jeongin was lucky to be freed by Chan. Chan had said that even before learning the entire truth, Felix had already forgiven him (Jeongin). So since that was Felix's decision, he would not change it. All evidence against Jeongin was erased and he became a free man. As a person that was almost about to be jailed, he knew just how lucky he was and for that, he would forever be grateful to Felix.
Jeongin successfully graduated from high school then his dad forced him to study Building and Construction in a famous college abroad. It was suitable for Jeongin because their business centered on that aspect. At first, Jeongin wanted to fool around for a year before going to University but his parents refused. His dad even threatened to disown him. Jeongin knew how serious his father could get and he didn't want to lack money so after much deliberation and shedding tears, he packed up and went to study abroad.
Years of hardwork was evident on Yang Jeongin. Not only did he look wiser but his body was very fit. Before his dad passed on the business to him, he made Jeongin work on numerous construction sites, lift heavy loads, lead many projects and when he deemed him ready, his father retired and let him take over. Though, whenever he had problems, he still rushed to his father and begged for solutions.
Jeongin grew up to be very handsome. His hair was jet black, short and wavy, making him look serious and mature. He was dressed in a grey shirt and black long pants with rubber boots that almost reached his knees. There was a hard cap on his head, the same kind that all workers wear and it didn't reduce his handsomeness at all. In fact, it boosted it. His white skin was gleaming with sweat and he radiated a commanding aura.
His straight workers all admired him and his gay workers wanted to be with him. Too bad he was already married.
Jeongin was standing on the uneven bumpy ground, seriously scribbling on his notepad. He was very annoyed. Such a tasking work. Why did he have to grow and take over the business? He was just fine fooling around all day. This kind of work was not cut out for him. He wished he could dump it and run away but he now has a family to cater for.
Jeongin grumbled in his heart. If it weren't for his lovely wife and son, nobody could make him focus on work like this.
"Dude, you look like you want to rip your notepad to pieces" he heard a familiar voice say as a hand tapped him on the shoulder. "What did the poor notepad do to you?"
Jeongin turned to face a guy wearing a white facemask. He recognised the person immediately and groaned. "It's not just the notepad. I want to obliterate the entire world! Why do we humans have to work so hard?"
The guy couldn't help but laugh. "Beats me. Well, I can't say I relate. After all, I just eat, sleep and cause trouble with Jimin hyung. My life is full of fun"
"Keep dreaming Felix. You won't be this free in the future when you finish college and your mum hands over the business to you" Jeongin said, bursting his bubble. "Ha! You'll be just as miserable as I am"
"But I still have my hyungs" Felix said, feeling smug. "I'm sure they won't leave me to handle everything on my own"
Seeing that he still had a way out, Jeongin groaned and pushed him away lightly. "What are you doing here anyway? You still have a cold. Shouldn't you be resting?"
Felix rolled his eyes. He didn't like the way everyone treated him like some porcelain doll. He wasn't that sick. "You're just like my hyungs. It's just a cold. Why should I remain cooped up inside? I haven't been to Seoul in years and I want to explore"
"So you came to explore at a construction site?" Jeongin deadpanned. The project was issued after the meeting and all parties signed the contract not long ago. Jeongin was in charge of building the orphanage so his work comes first. They hadn't even started building yet. There was just an expanse of land so what was there to explore?
Felix let out a nervous laugh and scratched the back of his neck. "What brought me out is none of your business okay. Here, I'll help you. What do you need me to do?"
Happy, Jeongin held the front end of a tape and handed Felix the roll. "I already know you came to see if there are any beauties here. Well sucks for you because I don't make the women work on the field"
Felix laughed, knowing he had already been caught. Jeongin and him have been friends for so long. It's only natural that he was able to tell. "Still, there are some good looking guys here" Felix said, eyes sweeping over the working macho men. "They're enough to feed my eyes"
It still amazed Jeongin how Felix had lost his memory but could still find guys attractive. After Felix woke up, he thought they were still in their first year of high school and at that time, Felix was a complete homophobe. He hadn't even met Aera then. Jeongin shrugged anyway. Maybe staying abroad had made him open minded.
The doctors said that Felix's brain had taken so much stress that it negated everything dating from meeting Aera to the time Chan came. They said that those memories are sometimes just hidden deep in the brain and other times, they are completely erased especially if they could cause irreversible harm to the patient.
Well, five years had passed and Felix still didn't remember anything. Jeongin thought maybe the memories were completely erased. That was fine actually. Felix wouldn't have to hurt anymore and he wouldn't have to deal with Felix's hate. Though it was a cowardly thought, Jeongin didn't care. He was already very close to Felix and he didn't want anything to ruin their friendship. Its better if he never remembers. Everything would be perfect.
