Chapter 141

Felix just stared at Jisung, not denying it.

"For fucks sake Felix, use your fucking head!" Jisung shouted.

"Hey keep it down will you!" Felix whisper-yelled. "They'll hear you!"

"Then stop acting like a fucking lunatic!" Jisung also whisper-yelled. "Fuck Felix what are you thinking?!"

"I don't know okay. I don't know" Felix said, frustrated. He threw the bag on the floor, running his fingers through his hair as he groaned. "I can't take this anymore. We're fucking high school kids. I should not have to go through this. Neither should Aera. Damn if I catch the motherfucker who did this, I'm going to end them."

"You really thought things through didn't you?" Jisung asked. He was crouched by the bag, checking its contents.

In the duffel bag were some clothes, credentials, some snacks, cash and a ring.

He took out the ring, admiring how it glistened under the lights. "Were you planning to propose to her? When did you even buy the ring?" It was pure gold with tiny little white diamonds around it.

Felix groaned. "It's a family heirloom. I took it from Mum's room. You think I have enough money to buy something that expensive?"

No matter how rich he was, he was still just a high-school kid.

Jisung slipped the ring on his finger and it fit. He also liked the way it felt and shined. "So you were planning to propose?"

Felix didn't see what Jisung did as anything alarming or weird. "Yeah. Well, I figured after everything that has happened coupled with the fact that I can't reveal that I'm the one in the video, proposing will be the only way she would forgive me and elope with me. It will show how serious I am about her."

"You idiot." Jisung laughed. "You think she'll agree to leave her entire family, her whole life here, behind and start another one with you in an unknown place? Dude her trust has been broken. Do you think she can ever trust you again? You think she even wants to be near you after everything?"

"But I didn't do it. This will prove it, won't it?" Felix asked, desperate to be right. He really couldn't think of any other way.

Jisung laughed even harder. "Dude she'll think it's another prank. She will never believe you."

"You don't know that" Felix argued. "You don't know how much we love each other. Her feelings for me cannot just disappear."

"You know what? Just go okay." Jisung said. He removed the ring, placed it back in the bag and stood up. "If you love her so much then I think you should use this chance to make things right. All I want is for you to find a way to get in touch with me okay. I don't want to lose you. You're my best friend and if you think this is what is best for you then you should go for it. You have my full support."

Felix couldn't believe it. He was so happy that he engulfed Jisung in a big tight hug. "Oh man, you have no idea how fucking happy I am. Fuck Sungie, you're the best! I love you, man."

Jisung smiled, patting Felix on the shoulder. "I love you too. Now hurry and leave. I'll go to your room and pretend to be you so that they won't know you're missing."

"Fuck, thanks man," Felix said. He was so excited. "I will never forget this Sungie. Thank you so much. I'll call you. I promise."

"Okay. Take care of yourself and Aera."

"I will!"

With that, Felix picked up his bag and ran. Jisung stood there, watching. He didn't leave until he could not see Felix any more.

SLAP!

Felix's head whipped to the side with such force that he thought his neck would crack. His right cheek stung and his ear was ringing. Tears welled in his eyes and he turned, glaring at his father.

"Y-You- You hit...me?" he stuttered, stunned.

Mr Lee grabbed him by the collar and jerked him up. Jisung and Mrs Lee had to step in before he seriously injured Felix. Jisung managed to make Mr Lee loosen his grip and then pulled him away while Mrs Lee hugged Felix, rubbing his cheek as she tried to soothe him but she was also crying.

"How dare you!" she shouted, facing her husband. "How dare you raise your hand on my son?!"

"Your son?! He's mine too! I can do whatever the hell I want to him!" Mr Lee yelled. "I don't know what his problem is. I gave him clear instructions but he still chose to defy me!"

"It doesn't give you the right to hit him!" Mrs Lee screamed.

Felix hugged his mum from behind. He hated it when she cried too. "It's okay mum. It's okay. Don't get upset."

"But he- he hit you" she cried, cupping his cheek which was already starting to swell. "How do you expect him to go to school like this today?"

"He better not go" Mr Lee responded. "Or he'll try to elope with that whore again."

"She's not a whore!" Felix snapped. "Stop calling her that!"

"I will call her whatever I damn want!" Mr Lee spat.

"Enough!" Jisung suddenly shouted. "That's enough! Calm down, Mr Lee. Just calm down!"

The living room went quiet. All that could be heard were their heavy breathing and Mrs Lee's sobs.

Mr Lee loosened his tie and plopped on a couch, cursing under his breath. "Tried to fucking elope with the whore."

It was a good thing no one heard what he was saying or it would have caused another fight.

"Dad please" Felix said breaking the silence. "Let me make things right for her. I promise after that, I won't ever see her again. I will do whatever you want. Just, let me help her. The longer we fight, the harder things get for her. I can't imagine what she's going through in school right now."
