Jisung was sitting on a chair in the old, abandoned school building, looking nervous as hell. Felix had called him and asked to meet up. He was aware that Felix and Chan had broken up, but he didn't know if they were still talking, and it drove him crazy just thinking about the possibility. Last time Felix asked to meet up, he didn't show so he had no idea what was going on between them. He just hoped it was truly as he had heard from that psycho Beomgyu and that they were broken up for good. That way, he could help Felix heal and quickly replace Chan in his life.
Things would be as they were always meant to be. Just him and Felix.
"Do you think he'll come this time?" Jisung asked Minho, who was standing quietly behind him.
Minho shrugged. "I don't know." And he really didn't care. He just wanted Jisung to forget about Felix already and focus on him, but Jisung was obsessed. Their wedding was coming up soon, but he hadn't even had the chance to tell him. The truth was that he was deathly afraid of telling Jisung because there was no telling what he would do.
Sometimes, Jisung was mellow, like a little cat. Other times, he was wild and unpredictable. There was no telling how he would react if he came to know about a wedding he didn't even consent to. The entire thing was driving him insane.
They waited for a long while and Jisung kept calling but Felix didn't pick up his calls. Just when Jisung thought Felix wasn't going to come anymore, the door to the classroom swung open and Felix strolled in wearing a wide grin.
Jisung was quite angry that Felix was late but after seeing that dazzling smile, his anger vanished like smoke and a similar grin appeared on his face. He stood up and did a mini jog, engulfing Felix in a big hug. "Fuck you scared me. I thought you were gonna stand me up again."
"I'm sorry." Felix apologised, hugging Jisung back. "The fucking stylist wasted my time."
"Stylist?" Jisung asked, pulling away. "What kind of stylist?" He gazed at Felix's clothes, but Felix wasn't wearing anything remarkable. Just a pair of snug black jeans with silver chains and a baggy purple sweater which looked extremely good on him.
Felix's smile went even wider. "Check this out." He said as pulled off his beanie, revealing his head of soft platinum blonde locks. He ran his fingers through his hair, grinning. "Nice right?"
Jisung's heart slowly sunk to his stomach as a feeling of dread gripped his heart. He stared at Felix's hair in utter shock, feeling cold to the bones.
Felix just smirked as he watched Jisung's reaction carefully. "It's me man. I'm back."
Minho was quite as startled as Jisung but he remained silent, his expression stoic, giving nothing away.
Jisung however, blinked rapidly, trying to wrap his head around the situation. "Y-Y-You're back? I-I'm confused. I don't understand. What do you mean by you're back?"
"Dude, I remember." Felix said. "I remember my past. Our past."
"Y-You remember?" Jisung stuttered, frightened. His breath hitched, his entire body going rigid. A cold dread slithered down his spine as he stared at Felix, his mind racing. If Felix remembered the past, then he knew—the truth, the lies, everything. His pulse pounded so hard it felt like his ribs might crack under the pressure. Panic clawed at his throat, choking the words before they could form. What could he even possibly say now?
Felix nodded and made his way to a chair. He sat down and propped his legs over a table, just the way he used to do back in high school. "Why are you looking so shocked man? Shouldn't you be psyched? I'm your best friend and I just told you that I've got my memories back. We should be fucking celebrating. Gosh I haven't felt so good in a long time. It's like I finally understand who I really am. I'm more in tune with my feelings now, you know. Before, I used to wonder why I got these weird dreams and why I saw all these people I barely knew anything about, but I understand everything now. It's all so clear."
Jisung wasn't even listening. He was completely disoriented but was trying to keep his cool while also trying to gauge if Felix was telling the truth. If Felix had remembered everything, then Felix would know that he had tried to manipulate him and make him break up with Chan on purpose. What was Felix thinking? What was going on? He used to be able to read Felix like a book but now, it was like the book was staring back at him, pages blank. He didn't like the situation at all. He felt like things were not in his control anymore.
"D-Don't get me wrong Lixie, I'm quite happy." He said, forcing a smile. "I...I'm just a bit confused. Before we celebrate anything, I want to know. What do you remember exactly?"
At that point, Felix went silent, and his expression went dark as he replayed the memories in his mind. The lies, the deceit, being manipulated by the person he called his best friend. He shuddered slightly as he recalled Aera taking her life in front of him, the way he had suffered after her death, meeting Chan, everything.
"I remember Aera, Sungie." He said, staring hard into Jisung's brown eyes.
Aera's name crashing from Felix's lips was like a thunderclap splitting the sky and Jisung's heart lurched, slamming into his throat as a cold shudder ran through him.
Felix smiled slightly for he could see the fear in Jisung's eyes, and he relished it. He wanted to see that and more. He wanted Jisung to suffer emotionally, psychologically, just as Aera did. Just as he did.
"I remember what happened to her." he continued, not taking his eyes off Jisung. Not even for a second. "What we did to her, what others did to her, and how we ruined their fucking lives for it."
Jisung began to tremble. If Felix remembered Aera, then there was no more hiding—no more secrets. The murders, the blood staining his hands—Felix would remember it all. He suddenly felt sick, his face going slightly green as bile rose up to his throat. All he could think was that Felix hated him. He could already imagine the look of hatred on Felix's face, the heart ripping words Felix would utter. Everything made him feel so sick and he wanted to just find a deep hole and bury himself in it.
"I also remember the things you did," Felix said and Jisung froze.
A/N Hello everyone! My deepest sincerest apologies for taking sooooooo long without updating. So many things happened in my life over the past few months. My contract with my first job ended and I couldn't get another one for a while. I almost got married but the guy ghosted me and then I had to get surgery for recurrent fibroadenoma. I've been through a roller coaster of emotions, and I just couldn't write as usual, so I just decided to go on a break and get myself back before writing because I didn't want to ruin this book. I want to give the characters, and you all the ending you deserve 😁😁
