"You see, I told you so. I told you that that man is bad news but you refused to listen to me" Felix's mother said. "You kept on saying, he's my boyfriend, he'll never hurt me. He loves me. Now, look at where that love has brought you. You're miserable!"
Felix hugged a pillow on the couch and groaned. When his mum said she wanted to talk to him, he didn't think it would be about Chan. "Not now mum. I already feel shitty. Don't make it worse."
"I'm just telling you to always listen to me. I'm always right," she said. She stood before him with her arms folded. "That man took your father away from us. He ruined your life and-"
"And I still love him, mum!" Felix snapped, cutting her off. He was already frustrated and she wasn't making his mood any better. "I still love him. I know what he did is wrong and I'm super mad at him but I still love him so stop it. It's not like you're innocent. You took his family first."
Mrs Lee gasped. "You're still holding that against me? It's been so many years since that happened."
Felix was annoyed. He wondered how his mother could take that to be something trivial. "Yes. It has been many years since Chan had to live without his parents but what about you? It has just been five years but you're unable to live without dad. Imagine how Chan must have felt."
Mrs Lee went silent, not knowing what to say anymore.
"Look mum, I get everything," Felix said. "I get that you're sad, you're angry. I am too but stop putting your pain above others and stop insulting Chan. I've already told you that I still love him. I just need some time away from him." He dropped the pillow and stood up from the couch. "If you're not okay with all this then you should just go back. I'm tired."
With that, he went back to his room.
Hyunjin, who was eavesdropping from the kitchen, walked out holding a tray of food. He actually didn't intend to eavesdrop this time. He just wanted to make some food for Felix and he was already in the kitchen when they started their conversation.
Mrs Lee saw Hyunjin standing by the door and she frowned. "What? This is all because of you. Ever since my son lost his memories, you guys taught him useless things. Like loving that piece of shit Christopher Bang."
Hyunjin scoffed. "No offence Mrs Lee, but I think all of us here are better parental figures to Felix than you and Mr Lee ever was. You will not admit it and you don't have to but we both know the truth. You just can't stand your son being emotionally independent. You want him to need you the way he used to. You want him to miss you and hug you and be spoiled by you but Felix is an adult now not a man-child whom you can control. The sooner you accept that, the better it would be for all of us. Especially you."
Mrs Lee was stunned. She watched, shocked, as Hyunjin made his way upstairs, not giving a damn about her.

"Gosh no offence honey but your mum is so annoying," Hyunjin said. "When will she go back?"
He was sitting on Felix's bed while Felix was sitting on a wooden chair, slurping the noodles Hyunjin made for him. They were really tasty.
Felix chuckled. "None taken. I'm also wondering when she'll leave."
Hyunjin hummed then laid down, stretching his limbs. "Do you wanna talk about it?" He could tell that Felix wasn't fine. Eating too fast was one of the signs.
Felix raised a brow. "Talk about what?"
"Don't play dumb with me" Hyunjin warned. "Chris of course. Are you okay? Binnie told me what happened."
Felix quickly ate the rest of the noodles and drank the soup. He placed the bowl on the tray and then sighed deeply. "To be honest, I'm not okay. Half of me wants to leave Chan forever and the other half wants to get back with him. I can't believe he betrayed me like that."
"Did you give him a chance to explain?" Hyunjin asked.
Felix shook his head. "No. I know I should but I'm not ready to listen to anything. I just feel that no matter what, outing someone like that isn't justifiable. I mean, he did it in front of everyone. All the important businessmen and women, prestigious families, my parents and friends. The event was live so basically, anyone who watched it saw me like that. And he claims to love me. You don't do that to someone you love."
Hyunjin lay on his right, looking at Felix. "You don't believe he loves you?"
Felix ran his fingers through his brown locks and sighed. "I don't know what to believe anymore."
"That's okay you know. You can figure things out on your own. At your own pace. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. This is your relationship Felix" Hyunjin advised. "Take your time. Chris will wait for you."
Felix nodded and they both went silent, lost in their own thoughts. A little while later, they could hear the pitter-patter of raindrops on the roof and windows.
"Wow, it's raining" Hyunjin chuckled as he sprang off the bed. "Perfect weather to get naughty. I'm gonna go find Binnie."
Felix smiled and shook his head. Typical Hyunjin.
He sat there for a while, thinking about his past. About Aera, about that event. He wondered if people still remembered him.
The rain became heavy, interrupting his thoughts. He sighed as he stood up and closed his windows then placed the empty tray on a table. He then dived under the covers of his bed. How nice it would be to cuddle with someone on a rainy night.
If only Chan hadn't hurt him so much.
Speaking of Chan...Felix wondered if he was still outside. He quickly sat up but then shook his head. There was no way Chan was still outside in the rain. It was impossible.
He laid back and closed his eyes but then sat up again. What if Chan was really outside? It wouldn't hurt to check, right?
With that in mind, Felix stood up and went to his window. He drew the curtain and what he saw made his heart pound.
Chan was still there, kneeling on the ground. Exactly the way he left him hours ago.
"Fuck" Felix cursed. He grabbed his jacket and quickly ran downstairs.
