She's a few inches shorter than Felix with dirty blonde hair and a body fit for a model. Felix took a liking to her because she was very nice to him and she helped him settle into the school. Later on, they got to know each other better and she asked him out.
At that time, Felix thought Jiwoo was an innocent pretty girl with values, good morals and could be a long time girlfriend. Maybe even lead to marriage. He devoted his entire time to her and their relationship. He made sure her needs were taken care of and he gave her everything she asked as long as he could afford it. Jiwoo was basically a princess. She was envied by so many girls. There was nothing she didn't have.
One thing about Felix is that when he loves, he loves wholeheartedly. He'd make his partner feel like they were they most special beings on earth. Jiwoo was lucky to have Felix. But she wasn't satisfied.
Everything crashed when Felix went to her apartment to see her and caught her cheating on him with another guy from their class.
Felix was so mad that he broke up with her right there and cut her off entirely from his life. Even right now, being touched by her, he felt nothing but disgust.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
Jiwoo then put on a sad face. The face that had deceived Felix for a long time. "If you cared even a little bit about me and my life Felix, you would have known why I'm in Seoul"
Annoyed, Felix dropped the nice guy act. "You cheated on me" he said in a low voice. "I loved you but you betrayed me"
"It was one mistake Felix" she said, like it didn't matter. "You didn't even listen to my explanation. You just shut me out. What did you want me to do?"
Felix scoffed. "If you had a problem with me, you should have just told me Jiwoo. I would have tried to fix it. What was it? What did I lack?" He lowered his voice even more. "Did I not satisfy you enough that you had to look for another man?"
She shook her head. "No Felix. You've always been great"
"Then what was it? What made you ruin what we had?"
Jiwoo really didn't know what to say so she let go of Felix and sighed. One look at her face and Felix could tell that she cheated for the fun of it. "You never really loved me did you?"
She remained silent.
Felix scoffed. "I should have known. You only wanted my money. Not me"
"But Felix, I've realised my mistake" she said. Her eyes were filled with tears but Felix knew they were fake. "I shouldn't have done that Felix. I shouldn't have used you. I love you now. Please believe me Felix"
"Jeon Jiwoo" a deep voice suddenly called, disruping their conversation. "23 years old. Second child of the Jeon family. The girl who illegally transfered a huge sum of money from her father's account to pay off her debts to fashion houses, car dealers, lecturers in her college so she could pass and many more. Her father found out and ousted her from the family, froze all her accounts and left her to fend for herself. She has now reduced herself to working for gambling houses to fill her stomach. Side jobs included"
Chan tacticly stuffed his body between them, making Jiwoo's eyes widen in fear. Chan stared down at her like she was some unsightly thing. "Do you really love Felix or do you want to use him to climb up the social ladder again and live a life a luxury which you don't deserve?"
Felix didn't think he would ever be so happy to see Chan in his life. It was unexpected but he was relieved. Chan's presence was like having the sun shine on a gloomy day. Jiwoo had made his mood plummet to the very ground but seeing Chan raised it up to 101 percent.
After listening to her shameful history, Jiwoo went as pale as a corpse. She stared in fear at the handsome man in a black suit, glaring at her like he wanted to rip her to shreds. Her mouth went dry and she couldn't say a word to defend herself.
Chan then turned to Felix who now stood behind him, protected by his broad back. Chan's features softened and he gazed at Felix in a gentle manner. He reached out and took his hand, encasing it in his own. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine" Felix answered, raising his head to look at Chan who looked extremely dashing. Like a handsome bodyguard protecting him from a dangerous assassin. The warmth that came from Chan's hand spread through his body, erasing the disgusting touch of Jiwoo.
After carefully scanning Felix's face and confirming that he was really okay, Chan faced Jiwoo and his expression turned icy. "You're still here?"
Jiwoo didn't even need to be told. She turned and ran as if the reaper had come for her soul.
Felix felt like a stone in his heart had just been lifted. There was nothing left but relief. "Thank you Chan. I owe you one"
Chan turned, smiled and pushed back the lock of hair that was blocking Felix's pretty eyes. Felix thought it was supposed to feel weird. They didn't know each other but Chan was touching him like they had been together for a long time which they didn't. He wasn't supposed to like it but he did. It didn't feel indecent or filled with malicious intent like others. It didn't make his skin crawl. It didn't make him feel like throwing up.
Instead, he wanted to be even closer. The whole thing baffles him to no end. Why did he feel so drawn to this man? Why Chan of all people? Chan already has someone he loves and that person is very much alive.
What Felix feared the most was letting himself love Chan and then Chan would walk away the second he learns that the other 'Felix' is alive.
Chan wanted to tell Felix that he owned him nothing. Instead, it's Chan who owes him a lot. "No need to thank me and you do not owe me anything. I did it because I like you. I want nothing in return"
Felix was stunned.
'I did it because I like you'
That sentence kept echoing in Felix's head and he stared at Chan in a daze, like he couldn't believe it. He hadn't heard anyone say that to him. Ever. Everyone who showed interest in him did things for him because they wanted something in return.
"Or wait, on second thoughts, I do want something" Chan said.
