Chapter 84

Chan took his black suit jacket which was draped over his chair and put it on quickly without looking away from his phone. Then he stuffed his car keys into his pocket and collected his phone. "We're going to see Felix. If he won't call me then I'll go to see him."

"Are you insane?" Mingi exclaimed, shocked. "What is wrong with you? You know what's going on over there and you also know that your face is the last thing Felix's mum wants to see."

Chan shrugged as he made his way out. "I'm going to marry her son Mingi. Seeing my face now should be the least of her worries"

Knowing there was nothing he could do to change Chan's mind, Mingi hastily went after him. At least, he'll be able to keep an eye on him.

Half an hour later, they parked outside the Parks residence but were not granted access. Chan dialled Jimin's number several times but Jimin refused to pick up.

"What will you do now?" Mingi asked, turning his head to find Chan gloomily staring at his phone.

"I'll try Hyunjin. He should still be inside" Chan answered but before he could tap on Hyunjin's number, the black gates opened but just a bit. A figure in black slipped through the space and dashed out immediately.

Mingi leaned across the steering wheel, peering through the passenger window. "Wait, isn't that Felix?"

Chan quickly stuck his head out the window. The person running was truly Felix. Chan could easily tell by the hairstyle and body shape.

"Why is he running? And why is he carrying such a heavy looking backpack?" Mingi asked. He looked at the gates but no one came after Felix. "No one's chasing him either. Could he be running away from home?"

Chan's face suddenly darkened and he sat back. "Follow him."

There's no way in hell he'd let Felix leave him again.

"Felix!" Jeongin called, waving a hand as he jogged over to Felix. "What's up? I thought we were supposed to meet at Luigi's in the evening"

Felix, who had just gotten down from a taxi, glanced left and right, not happy that the streets weren't crowded enough. Anyone could spot and recognise him. He pushed back his hair and raised his hoodie over his head, cursing himself for not wearing a face mask.

Seonghwa and the rest must have found out that he wasn't at home by now and they'll send people to search for him. He didn't want to go back. He grabbed Jeongin's arm and broke into a run.

"Hey!" Jeongin shouted for he just felt a sudden strong pull and his body was already running with Felix. "Dude what is going on? Why are we running?"

"Just shut up and follow me" Felix snapped. He didn't even know where he was running to. He just kept passing corners hoping to make it impossible for his family to track him. A family that claimed to love him but kept secrets from him. Worse thing was that they were about himself. If the secrets were about someone else, he wouldn't even be bothered.

Jeongin noticed Felix's heavy backpack and his eyes widened. "Are you running away?" he asked. He suddenly thought the things Chan would do to him if he let Felix run away and his blood ran cold.

Felix didn't answer so Jeongin stopped running, forcing Felix to also come to a stop. "Answer me Felix," he demanded. "Are you running away?" There was no way in hell he'd let Felix leave. Chan would skin him alive.

Instead of giving an answer, Felix grabbed Jeongin's arm and tugged. "Let's just go. I'll tell you everything once we're safe."

"Safe from what?" Jeongin asked, refusing to budge. Instead, he held Felix's arm, stopping him from running. "What are you talking about? Are you running away from Chris? Did he do something to you?"

Thinking they had a misunderstanding or lover's quarrel, he proceeded to pacify Felix with a nervous smile. "Look, I'm sure that you two can sort things out if you just sit down and talk. There's really no need to drag me into this or run away"

Since Jeongin wasn't willing to cooperate, Felix shrugged off his hand and started to run by himself. He had no time to waste. He had to get to a place no one could find him.

"Fuck, Felix stop" Jeongin shouted, grabbing his collar and jerking him to a stop.

"Let go of me!" Felix shouted. "Let go!" He kicked Jeongin in the shin, making him fall to the floor, groaning in pain.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Jeongin groaned, clutching his leg. "You're not being yourself"

Hearing this, Felix scoffed. "I don't even know who 'myself' is anymore."

"What are you talking about?" Jeongin asked, thoroughly confused. First Felix sent him a text early in the morning to meet at Luigi's for dinner then later on, he canceled and said to meet him around the corner of their former school and then they started to run around going to God knows where. He gazed at his surroundings, realising that they were in an alley. The area was pretty clean too.

"I said I don't know who I am anymore" Felix repeated. He pushed back his hood and ran his fingers through his hair, feeling frustrated. "I- I just feel incomplete"

Jeongin raised a brow, clearly not getting what Felix was talking about.

Felix groaned as he took off the heavy backpack and sat on the tarred cold ground with a heavy sigh. "Everyone just keeps lying to me Jeongin. My mum, Hyunjin, Changbin, my cousins, Chan, everyone. Did you know that my dad is in prison and Chan put him there?"

Jeongin paled instantly. "H-How did you know?"

Felix scoffed. "So you also knew but you kept it from me." He shook his head. "I should have known."

"It's not like that man" Jeongin said. "I would have told you but the doctors said-"

"Yeah right" Felix chuckled lowly. "The doctors again. No need to explain. I already know the part about the doctors"

Jeongin went silent. It was evident that Felix already knew what happened.

"My mum came today" Felix continued. "I got to see her after so many years and I learned that Chan is the reason my family is separated. He's the reason my dad is in prison"

"But did she tell you why he's in prison?" Jeongin asked. He didn't like supporting Chan but Chan had already promised to destroy him if his relationship with Felix gets ruined.
