"You should go to a hospital" Felix said, pulling away to look at Chan. He was worried about Chan's injury. He was sure that Chan was seriously injured. Maybe a bone was broken or something. After all, he was hit on the back with a metal rod. The thought of it made his heart ache.
"There's no need" Chan replied. He took Felix's hand in his and intertwined their fingers, giving him a reassuring look. "Mingi will patch me up in no time"
Still not sure, Felix squeezed Chan's hand, showing that he wasn't okay with it. "That wasn't a simple hit, Chan. You might need an X-ray. Doesn't it hurt? What does Mingi even know? He's not a doctor. Let's go to Changbin. He'll know exactly what do to"
The feeling of the one you love being worried for you was amazing. For five years, Chan hadn't felt that warmth. That special care and here they were, unsure of their relationship but he could see genuine concern in Felix's beautiful brown eyes. The same kind that used to be in Felix's eyes five years ago.
Chan didn't want it to stop so he let his body sag and he feigned a pained expression. "Now that you mention it, it does hurt a little"
Felix panicked and he clung to Chan's arm, trying to comfort him. "It's okay. You'll be just fine. You know what, Mingi, please stop at the nearest hospital. The Seo's hospital is too far and Chan is in pain"
"Yes, Mr Lee" Mingi glanced at the back through the back view mirror and shook his head at Chan's crap acting. Only someone as naive as Felix would believe it. How could a person who half grew up on the streets and was personally trained by Mr Yoongi, complain about such a little thing? That metal rod was nothing compared to the training they went through.
Especially Chan's, seeing as Mr Yoongi groomed him to be his heir.
But Mingi played along anyway. After all, he had gotten a raise and a new car. If he could grab benefits like this while Felix was around Chan then he would never complain. If only he could get that six months vacation he had always dreamed of...
Soon, they arrived at the hospital and Felix helped Chan inside. Chan intentionally put part of his weight on Felix, draping an arm around Felix's neck while Felix supported him at the waist. With how Chan relied on him, Felix believed that he was truly in pain. It was quite funny really. Considering the fact that Felix's frame was much leaner than Chan's and they were moving at a snail's pace.
Chan's head dropped down, his thin cold lips touching the rim of Felix's ear fleetingly. His nose was filled with the sweet scent of vanilla mixed with Felix's sweat. Chan couldn't be any happier. He was already on cloud nine. "Thank you" he whispered and a smirk adorned his lips when he felt Felix shiver.
Too close. Chan was too close. Felix could feel every breath. Every puff of air, against his ear and the back of his neck. It was itchy but not uncomfortable. Still, it made his throat go dry and his heart beat faster.
"W-What are you thanking me for?" he stuttered, feeling flustered. "I-I should be the one thanking you. You're the one who saved me remember?"
Recalling those thugs, Chan's eyes went cold. "Whoever dares to touch you will answer to me, Felix" he declared, sleathily running his lips against the rim of Felix's ear. "I will always protect you. For as long as I live, no one will ever be able to hurt you."
********
"Fortunately, there are no broken bones" the white haired doctor said, carefully looking at Chan's X-Ray through his thin rimmed glasses, "All you need to do is apply this ointment -he scribbled something down on a paper and gave it to Felix- morning and night for a week. The swelling will go down and everything will be back to normal. I've also prescribed some painkillers. He should avoid sea food and sleep on his stomach until the swelling subsides"
"Thank you doctor" Felix said, staring at the squiggly handwriting with a slight frown. He couldn't make out a single word.
Chan noticed Felix squinting at the paper, trying to make out what was written on it so he collected it and handed it back to the doctor. "Rewrite it. Felix can't see what you wrote"
The doctor, as well as Felix, were stunned.
"Uh...I don't think he needs to" the doctor said. "The pharmacist will surely understand"
"Are you calling him stupid?" Chan asked, his face darkening with displeasure.
It was the doctor's first time meeting and treating Christopher Bang but he knew of the man's reputation. Who didn't know Christopher Bang in Korea? He quickly shook his head, wearing an apologetic smile "No no no that's not what I meant. I'll write another one right away"
He quickly tore another prescription sheet and wrote down the name of the ointment and painkillers in bold then handed it to Felix with both hands. "I hope that's better"
Felix was speechless.
Chan turned to Felix and asked in a gentle manner, "Can you see it now?"
Felix nodded. It was so big it filled the entire sheet. Satisfied, they both walked out of the doctor's office with Chan putting half his weight on Felix once again.
"You didn't have to bully the doctor for such a trivial thing" Felix said as they walked. "I didn't mind not seeing what was written on the paper"
"But you wanted to, didn't you?" Chan leaned even closer and murmured in Felix's ear. He could tell and whatever Felix wanted, as long as he had the ability, he would fulfill.
Felix didn't deny it. Instead he felt happy. Although it wasn't right to bully a doctor like that, Chan doing it meant he cared about his feelings. Felix's heart throbbed as a thought came to his mind. Maybe Chan was truly deeply in love with him.
"For me, Felix," Chan murmured once more. "Nothing you feel is trivial"
