Chapter 20

"I'm really sorry Taehyun" Chan said, not meeting his eyes due to shame and guilt. "I know you love me but I can't love you back. My heart is meant for him and only him"

Acknowledging this fact out loud also gave Chan some sort of relief.

"N-No" Taehyun stuttered. He moved to Chan and hugged him tight. "You and him are not together anymore. I'm the one you're with now. Y-You can learn to love me. It's not impossible. All we need is time. With time, you'll forget about him and love me. I'm sure of it. Don't break up with me Chan. Don't leave me"

Chan immediately scowled. Forget Felix?

Impossible!

He peeled Taehyun away from his body and pinned him with a glare so fierce it made Taehyun pale with fright. "Forget Felix?" Chan asked, his voice curt and cold. "Felix is someone I can never forget. In this lifetime or the next, he will always own my heart. Get that into your brain and never speak such ominous words again if you do not want to incur my wrath. Instead of staying with me, hoping my feelings will change, it's better you leave. Because I will rather die than forget him not to talk of giving my heart to someone else"

With that, he released Taehyun. Not being able to take what Chan just said, he pushed Chan away and ran out of the police station, crying.

The poor boy had no idea that the person he was competing against for Chan's love was thought to be dead by Chan. All he had in his mind was to find that Felix and beg him to let Chan go.

It wasn't until Taehyun ran out that Chan remembered where he was. One look from him and all the officers who were formerly deathly silent, watching the whole scene unfold, went back to work, passing papers, typing nonsense on their computers and some whistling. Everyone's mind was still reeling with what they had just seen and heard.

So Christopher Bang was this heartless. But then, there's another in his heart. Poor Taehyun.

Felix, who was inside the Chief's office with JJ, put a hand over his rapidly beating heart and let out a deep sigh. For a moment there, he thought Chan was talking about him. It turned out that Chan's love and him share the same name.

What a coincidence.

Felix poked his head out again and this time, saw Chan signing some documents. He retracted his head, looking thoughtful. In a way, he felt that the Felix Chan loves, is very cruel. Chan loves only him but from the conversation, it seemed as if Felix didn't return Chan's feelings. How sad.

And then there was the blonde guy who should be Chan's current pet. He loves Chan but Chan doesn't love him.

Then who does Felix love? What a confusing love triangle....

Then again, it couldn't really be called a triangle.

Felix shook his head, wondering why he was so interested in this Christopher Bang. They hadn't even officially met but just hearing his voice made him feel some type of way...

He groaned out loud and rubbed his temples as he reminded himself of Jeongin's words.

Christopher Bang is a beast. A beast. A beast!

"Don't go out until he leaves. Got that?" Chief Inspector BM ordered sternly, cutting off his thoughts.

Felix nodded. "Of course. I don't even want to meet him"

After what Jeongin had told him, if he approached Chan then he'll just be very stupid. He wanted nothing to do with the SM circle. Felix quickly closed the door and plopped back on a chair with JJ who was busy munching on a chocolate cookie.

Chief Inspector BM watched Felix suspiciously. He felt that things shouldn't be too easy. Even after seeing Chan, Felix really wasn't affected? Does that mean his memories will never come back? He decided to ask and see. "Uh, Felix, you're not affected at all by what you just saw?"

Confused, Felix shook his head. "Should I be? I mean, he's really handsome and all but he's not my type. I can't deal with such people"

The officer had no idea that Felix was referring to Chan's alleged way of life. 

'But he's exactly your type...' BM thought. They even dated for a while. He wondered if Felix could truly not remember. After all, he was madly in love Chan. Was it really possible to forget such strong emotions completely?

"You really don't remember anything? His face doesn't seem familiar?"

Felix thought hard but then shook his head. Nothing came to mind. "Is there anything I should remember?" he asked. "Have I met him before? You know I was in a coma for two years. I missed two years of high school. Could I have met him then?"

The officer quickly shook his head, making his blonde curls fly. "No no no. I don't think so" he said, laughing nervously. Felix didn't take it seriously so he shrugged and started to play with his phone.

Officer BM already knew about Felix and Chan's life from Seungmin, his brother, and he had already been told by Seungmin that they needed to keep Felix away from Chan no matter what.

That was the main reason he didn't let Felix go out while Chan and Taehyun were still arguing. Who knew Chan and Felix would be in the same police station on the same day? So close! What if some accident happened and Felix got his memories back? Everyone would surely blame him.

Felix opened an action game app but was playing absentmindedly as he was still pondering over what Chan had said to Taehyun.

The last sentence echoed in Felix's mind.
