Chapter 22

"Will you quit moving around like this?" Jeongin groaned, rubbing his temples with his fingers. "You're giving me a headache"

He was still dressed in his work clothes which indicated that he had rushed straight to the hospital from the construction sight.

Felix was pacing back and forth in the hallway of the hospital, right outside the emergency room. "Well what do you expect me to do? This is all my fault. I'm worried about him"

Jeongin sighed. Even after losing his memories, Felix still retained some care for Chan. It actually annoyed Jeongin that Felix could be so worked up over Chan. He was sure that if it were someone else, Felix will not be this worried. He patted the space beside him. "Then just sit here with me and wait. It's not like pacing up and down will make him better. Besides, it's not your fault. It was an accident. Even Seungmin's brother said so"

Felix plopped on the space beside Jeongin and buried his face in his palms. "Dude I know it was an accident but I still caused it. And you know what?" he raised his head and looked at Jeongin. "He protected me. He made sure I didn't get injured and look at his condition now. How can I not feel guilty? Oh fuck"

Jeongin snorted, not feeling sorry for Chan in the slightest. After all, what Chan did to Felix, if Felix didn't forget, there was no way things will be okay now. "I've told you before that Christopher Bang is not a good person. Don't worry about someone like him"

Appalled by Jeongin's words, Felix glared at him. "What the fuck are you saying Jeongin? His lifestyle is his business. It doesn't concern you so how can you say that he's not a good person? You can't judge him based on that. That guy saved me twice. It's enough for me to know that he is good. And even if he is not, he is still a human being and he doesn't deserve to be hurt like this"

Knowing that Felix couldn't recall the past, Jeongin decided to remain silent. He knew that no matter what he says, Felix will never agree. He just hoped that Chan didn't see Felix's face before he passed out. If he did, then there'll be trouble.

After Felix recognised Chan, he also saw that Chan was unconscious and profusely bleeding from a gash on his temple. He was scared shitless. He ran back into the station and reported the situation then Officer Todou had his people rush Chan to the hospital while Felix followed in Jeongin's car which was driven by the secretary.

Since it was an emergency and he didn't want JJ to witness it, Felix made JJ stay back with Officer Todou. Seungmin was already informed so he would just pick up JJ on his way back from work.

When they got to the hospital and Chan was wheeled into the emergency room, Felix began to panic as he didn't know who to call for support. He was really scared. This was the CEO of Min Technologies. What if something really bad happens to him?

At first, he thought of Seonghwa and Jimin but then, those brothers of his were very unpredictable, especially when they get angry so he decided against it. They might even send him back to the US if they knew.

He then thought of Hyunjin and Changbin. He called them both but their phones were switched off. He knew exactly what that meant so he relied on his last option.

Jeongin.

Jeongin was still working but when he heard the name Christopher Bang, he rushed to the hospital like his ass was on fire. He never expected Chan and Felix to meet for the second time in a day. Fate surely gives cruel surprises. After all their careful planning, Chan and Felix still met.

"Jeongin, what will we do if he wakes up and demands compensation?" Felix asked as his brain conjured up many scenarios of how Chan would want to destroy them all. He could hardly sit still because of it.

"Then we pay" Jeongin shrugged. He didn't really care what Chan does. In fact, he was praying Chan would also lose his memory and never remember Felix. Everyone will go their way and live their lives. End of story.

"But Jeongin," Felix whined. "W-What if he doesn't want money as compensation? He is a billionaire after all. What could money do for him?"

Jeongin thought of it and saw that it made sense so he asked, "Then what do you think he can ask for?"

Felix went pale and he scooted even closer to Jeongin till the sides of their bodies were tightly pressed together. Then he whispered, his voice tinged with fear; "W-What if he makes me s-sign a contract?"

Jeongin was confused so Felix further explained; "You see, considering what you told me earlier, he might force me to sign a contract and use me as his new pet! I also overheard him saying that the name of the person he loves is also Felix"

Hearing that, Jeongin went pale with fright. He really hadn't thought of that. If Chan had seen Felix, he could demand for something like that. But then, Chan isn't truly part of any SM circle. Jeongin facepalmed as he realised he nearly believed his own lie. He chuckled, patting Felix on the shoulder. "There's nothing to be afraid of. He won't demand for anything like that"

Felix wasn't convinced. "Are you sure? You even said he likes cute guys like me"

"Calm down Felix. He won't ask you to sign a contract" Jeongin assured him. "As long as you're not part of the circle, he can't force you so don't worry"

Felix thought it made sense so he stopped panicking but still, he was greatly worried. He didn't know why. This man was a stranger but his heart couldn't settle at all and his stomach felt queasy. He couldn't sit still and he was sweating. Felix knew that his reaction was too much but he couldn't help it. He even felt like crying.

They waited and waited and just when Felix thought he couldn't take it anymore, the doors were pushed open and a doctor walked out, looking exhausted.
