"Make yourself comfortable," Mingi said as he strolled towards the kitchen. "What would you like to drink? Or eat?"

"Fruit juice," Felix said as he took off his white bomber jacket, leaving on a form-fitting sea blue shirt over a pair of white pants and sat on the couch. "I don't want to eat anything."

Mingi had stayed true to his word and picked Felix up at exactly 4 pm then drove to Chan's mansion which was on the outskirts of town. It was the same mansion Chan had brought Felix some weeks ago. The one in which he was sent those nude pictures of himself and he ran away.

Felix gazed upstairs, recalling the things they did in Chan's bedroom. He had cooked for Chan. They talked and although Chan was injured on his back, it didn't stop them from doing.....things.

His body started to tingle and he suddenly missed that warm night in which he was held in Chan's arms.

Chan treated him like glass. Scared that he would fall and break at any time. He was so caring and thoughtful. All Chan wanted was to be with him. They had even talked and made promises that he couldn't even keep.

Felix wish he could turn back time to when he was sent those pictures. He would have waited until Chan came back so they could talk and find a better way to solve the problem. Now Chan was far away from him and he couldn't even call him.

Was this how Chan felt when he refused to see him? The feeling of longing for someone was so painful. How did Chan survive it for five years? At least he knows Chan's location. Chan didn't even know he was still alive.

"Why are you looking like some sad cat?" Mingi asked as he placed a tray carrying a large carton of grapefruit juice on the table, some cans of beer and a couple of snacks.

"You actually have the nerve to ask me that?" Felix huffed, glaring at him. "You already know why I'm like this."

Mingi chuckled, taking a seat across from Felix. He rolled up the sleeves of his burgundy turtle neck. "Oh really? With the way you behaved this past week, one wouldn't think you love Chris at all."

"Hey stop saying that!" Felix snapped. "I don't need to prove how much I love him to you okay? Stop butting into our relationship."

"But there's no relationship. You broke it off remember?" Mingi reminded him. "Now Chris is free to be with whoever he wants."

Felix suddenly felt a pang of pain in his chest. He gritted his teeth, glaring at Mingi. If Chan dared to date anyone else, he'd rip off his balls and feed it to him!

Mingi unexpectedly burst out laughing. "Woah dude calm down. I was only teasing you. Don't take it seriously. You know Chris's heart is set on you."

"Then don't make stupid jokes like that!" Felix shouted. He grabbed a pillow and threw it at Mingi which smacked Mingi square in the face.

"I guess I deserved that" Mingi chuckled, putting the pillow away. "Anyway, like I said yesterday, Chris hasn't had an easy life and you're not making it any easier. I'm not saying this for you to take pity on him and get back together. I'm saying this so that you can understand him and stop increasing his pain. I know what he did to you is wrong Felix but it was in the past and Chris has already shown you how much he loves you. He loved you then and he loves you even more now. In all the years I've known Chris, this is the first time he's tried so hard to live for himself. Cut him some slack."

Felix sighed heavily, mulling over Mingi's words. It's not like he wanted to add to Chan's pain. He was also hurt. Chan had broken his trust.

"What do you mean by this is the first time Chan is trying to live for himself?"

Mingi leaned over and took a can of beer and opened it, taking a huge gulp. "It started years ago after Chris's parents passed away," he answered. "We met in a foster home and he was my roommate. Chris was nine and I was seven. He was very quiet and well-behaved. He never made anyone worry and he always helped around, doing menial chores and even cooking. He always snuck me little snacks and he took care of me, treating me like his little brother."

Mingi chuckled, recalling those cold yet warm nights. "Chris told me he never had a sibling and his parents were gone so I'll be his family. He swore to be my older brother and take care of me forever. As you can see, Chris never broke his promise. He never makes promises that he cannot keep and that is why I'll follow him to the end of the world."

Felix stared at Mingi, stunned by what he had heard. No wonder back then, Chan never told him he loved him. Chan didn't actually promise him anything. In fact, he was the one making the promises and expecting Chan to do the same.

"You know, Chris was so good and well-behaved." Mingi continued. "People liked Chris because was very obedient and friendly. Very reliable too. You know, my father passed away before I was born and my mother passed away after she gave birth to me. I never knew what a family was like so when Chris said he would be my older brother, I thought we were going to live as a family forever. I thought that I had finally found my true home but everything went downhill after Mr Williams lost his job. That was the name of our foster parents. Mr and Mrs Williams. Not being able to bring food to the table, pay rent, and send us to school, Mr Williams resorted to drinking and gambling. The money the government paid them to take care of us was all gambled away. To make things worse, he started to beat his wife whenever he was drunk. He'd get angry at the littlest things and complain all day. Anytime he came home drunk, Mrs Williams would hide us up in the attic and tell us not to make a single sound until he fell asleep. One day, Chris couldn't take it anymore. He couldn't stay up there, listening to her scream so he went down to help her but was beaten too. So badly that he was hospitalized."

Felix gasped. He could vaguely remember Chan saying something like that. He suddenly felt pain at the side of his head. Like a pinprick.

The image was somewhat blurry. He could see Chan's face, somewhat distorted. He could hear him shouting but he couldn't make out what he was saying. All he knew what that Chan was angry.

No.

He was extremely furious.

The memory left as soon as it came. Like a flash.
