Felix stared at Jisung in utter shock, unable to comprehend that Jisung was still alive, standing before him, hale and healthy. As if nothing ever happened. Nothing looked out of place. If he hadn't looked taller, Felix would even swear that Jisung didn't grow a day older. He seemed to be glowing even.

Felix didn't know what to do. He felt as if he was dreaming. A part of him wanted to step forward and hug his best friend tight. Make sure that he was actually real. But another part of him froze his body in place. He felt as if Jisung would disappear if he touches him.

Jisung spread his arms wide, giving Felix a small smile. "Will you just keep staring at your best bud like that? Won't you hug me?" His fingers were itching to touch Felix again. The pictures his spies got of Felix did not do Felix justice at all. He was so breathtaking in person. Jisung wanted to hug him tight and never let go. It had been so long since he was able to physically touch Felix.

Jisung's words broke the barrier between them and Felix rushed up to him and hugged him tight, burying his face in Jisung's neck. At that point, he couldn't help but cry. It was like a missing part of him was back in place and he suddenly felt whole. He had always seen Jisung as his best friend and brother. Having him back made Felix feel like his life was set again. As if nothing ever changed.

It was as if they were back in high school, wearing their uniforms, hanging out in the abandoned building. All of a sudden, he could remember the conversations, the arguments, the laughter, the highs and the lows, everything.
He hugged Jisung tight, unwilling to let go as he cried, wetting Jisung's shirt but all Jisung felt was warmth and happiness. It felt really nice to have Felix in his arms again. He just wished it could last forever.

"You're awful" Felix cried, pinching Jisung on the back, making him flinch in pain. "You're an awful person Sungie. How can you just come back now? Do you have any idea how much I've missed you? You're truly an awful friend."

The word 'friend' irked Jisung but he smiled nonetheless as he ruffled Felix's soft hair. "I'm sorry Lixie. I didn't mean to be away for so long. I just couldn't show up in public."

Felix broke the hug and stepped back, giving him a questioning look. "What do you mean you couldn't show up in public? What happened?"

Jisung frowned then shook his head, acting as if he didn't want to talk about it. "Forget it. What matters is that I'm here now, isn't it?"

Felix wanted to agree but he couldn't just let everything go. "You being here right now matters a lot. Yes, but I still want to know what happened." He took Jisung's hands in his and stared up at him earnestly. "What could have possibly kept my best friend away from me for years? Tell me, Sungie.?

Jisung smirked slightly. It was as he predicted. Felix was still the same. So naive and innocent. He sighed then retracted his hands and turned away, acting like he didn't want to talk. "You won't want to hear it Lixie. I can't bear to hurt you."
"You won't hurt me okay," Felix said as he followed him, turning his around so they could face each other. "Whatever it is, I'll understand. Please Sungie. You know you can trust me."

At this point, Jisung decided to speak. He knew it would take time for Felix to believe but he eventually will. After all, they had been building the doubts in Felix's mind since they sent him the pictures.

He stared Felix in the eyes as he spoke; "It's your boyfriend, Lixie. It's Chan."

Felix was completely stunned. He stared at Jisung for a long time, unable to utter a word.

"Chan is the reason I went MIA for five years Lixie" Jisung continued when Felix didn't say anything. "He tried to kill me. Just as he killed Lisa and Rose. He blamed us for what happened to his sister and tried to destroy us all. I've been hiding from him all these years Lixie. I've taken a huge risk just by coming here to meet you. If he finds out, I'm dead. Can you even imagine that after all these years, his rage hasn't calmed one bit. He's still out to get me and when I found out that you're with him, I couldn't stay hidden anymore. I had to come out and warn you to-"

Felix suddenly burst out laughing. He laughed so much that tears came out of his eyes. "Dude, what sort of bullshit are you saying?" he chuckled, clearly not believing Jisung. "Do you even know who you're talking about? You're saying that Bang Chan, my boyfriend who has been nothing but sweet to me, tried to kill you, forcing you to go into hiding."

Jisung grabbed Felix by the shoulders, trying to convince him. "I'm not joking Lixie. It's true. He tried to kill you too. I even thought he succeeded because I couldn't find you until now. Can you not remember what happened? He destroyed your family. He wanted to burn you all alive!"

"Bullshit!" Felix shouted, pushing Jisung away. "I don't believe this!"

Then he suddenly realised something. How did Beomgyu know Jisung? And why were they together? Now that he thought of it, it just didn't add up.

Although he was elated to see his best friend again, he didn't let his joy overcome his reason. After all, Jisung would not have stayed hidden for five years if he did nothing wrong. Coupled with the fact that no one at home wanted to speak about him, there was something absolutely fishy about the whole thing. For some reason, he felt he couldn't wholeheartedly trust Jisung the way he used to. Things have changed. Their lives were even more complicated than before. He couldn't just accept Jisung.

"How can you not believe me?" Jisung asked, irritated. He hated when Felix supports Chan. "I'm your best friend Lixie. You gotta trust me."

But unknown to Jisung, his words gave birth to a sudden anger in Felix. He couldn't believe that Jisung could make up such a story just to make him breakup with Chan so that Beomgyu could get him. He could suddenly feel the strain on their friendship.  It was there, like fragile glass straining under heavy load.

"Best bud my fucking foot!" he spat.

Both Beomgyu and Jisung were stunned. They didn't expect Felix's reaction to be hostile.

Felix scoffed. "What? What did you expect? That you'll just show up and I'll fucking melt and agree to whatever you say? Do you have any idea how mad I am at you right now? After so many fucking years, nearly going fucking insane with worry about you, you just show up in our former school, in our former hideout, with a fucking stranger who's threatening me to leave my boyfriend or he'll post my nudes on the internet. What sort of surprise is this Jisung? You're even telling me thag Chan tried to kill you. That Chan murdered Lisa and Rose. Well newsflash 'best bud'" he airquoted the last two words. "I already know the truth about their deaths. Chan didn't do it."

"But he was part of it!" Jisung shouted. "He led the whole thing! Made the whole plans!"

"That's because he was hurting!" Felix argued. "He was hurting for his sister. What they did to Aera hurt him and his father a lot. It would hurt any brother or father."

"He wasn't even her real brother!"

"That doesn't fucking matter!" Felix yelled. "It doesn't fucking matter okay! You don't have to share blood to feel pain for another person! That bond is still there. If something happened to you, I'd feel pain also but we're not related by blood. Yet, I call you my brother. It's the bond Jisung. You can't blame him for wanting revenge. Not after everything we did to him."
