Chapter 36 - Trial

Gideon was facing the Senate and Mon Mothma and Admiral Ackbar at that moment.

It was his trial, after being in prison for the next few weeks.

For the past weeks, the Senate had being busy with the news of a new enemy would be raising against the New Republic, and of course, the Senate took the news with concerned.

After talking and elaborate a plan, about sending some negotiators to the neutral systems, trying to get allies, the Senate thought it was time for finally Gideon had his trial.

Luke was sitting next to Han, Chewie and Amidala. Of course he didn't want to miss this trial, after all one of the accusations against him, was the fact that he almost killed his daughter Alli when she was only 7 weeks old.

Leia and Luma, already had informed him that in the beginning they were planning Gideon's execution, but with the recent information, maybe keeping him alive, could helped him to maybe get more information about this Grand Admiral Thrawn.

So far they were trying to get information about him, but they didn't find anything yet. Not even Qoli, has success with that, and he was the best investigating things.

"Where is Ines and kids?" Amidala asked his son

"She wanted to be here, but she is so far into the pregnancy, I didn't want her to be here and being sit down for so long, and listen things about when our Alli was taken. It would be to much for her."

"You are right son."

"So she is with the kids, and sister in law, in Dex Diner, where we will meet them after this. It is for the best" Luke looked at her mother.

"It is."

They all looked back to the center of the Senate where Gideon was talking right now.

"You can't prove I was involve in that virus and even if you could, you can't execute me. You need me. You know what is coming," he smiled at them, making Luke's nerves be over the edge.

"Take deep breath kid," Han told him. "I know it is difficult but sadly the bastard know what he is talking about."

"He is smart I have to say," Amidala said.

Mon Mothma looked at Admiral Ackbar. He was right. Sadly they didn't have any prove to link him to the release of the virus, because the people that could say something, was death and the other was in prison and he would speak about it.

"You are right about one thing. But we can link to the kidnapping and attentive of murder of a baby 3 years ago." she told me.

"I was not the one who did it," he said.

"But you ordered it and because of that, we can condemned you for that," Ackbar said.

After the trial was done and they took Gideon back to the prison, they left to meet Leia and Luma.

"Hey," Han said kissing Leia.

"I was needing this," she said resting her head on his chest.

"So that's it. He will be in prison," Luke asked them.

"We need him, sadly enough," Luma responded.

"But you know keeping him alive and in prison is a risk. Someone can get him free and he can ran away," Amidala said.

"We are sure to watched him 24/7, mother," Leia told her.

"I want to just go to Dex to meet my wife and kids and then get back to the Temple," Luke said. He was tired to see or even listen Gideon's name all morning.
