Chapter 71 - Helping

After R2 came up to warn them about the distress called he got in the Falcon, some of them decided to go there and listen the distress call themselves. So Han, Chewie, Luke, Ines, Leia, Ahsoka and Din went there, while the others decided to watched the smaller kids, with the Iris and Ken.

Once they entered inside the Falcon, Han pressed the buttons of the communicator and after a while they could hear it:

"Mayday! Mayday! This is Briqualon. We are having major problems. I don't think we can fly much longer. We need help. Please, any systems that can hear us, we need help."

Everyone looked at each other after the distress called repeat the same call over and over again.

"What do you think this is?" Leia asked

Chewie growled nod his head

"He has a point. It can be a trap," Han said nodding.

"But what if it isn't?" Ines asked looking at Luke "What if the person who send this distress call really needs help?"

Luke nod. He felt that the person really was in trouble.

"I think Ines is right," Ahsoka said before Luke could even say anything. "I think this is real."

"Well then will we replied and send the coordinates of the planet?" Din asked looking at Chewie.

Chewie growled nodding

"Okay then," Han said and pressing the button he replied, sending the coordinates of Kashyyyk to the person and waiting for any reply, that didn't take to long.

"This is Briqualon. We heard your message. Thank you. We are able to to be there in less than 24 hours. Thank you so much once again. Over out."

Han looked at everyone.

"Well in 24 hours we will know if we did the right thing or not," he said.

"We did," Luke said and looked at Ahsoka, Ines and Leia. They all felt that they did the right thing helping those people.

Leaving the Falcon, they head back to Luke and Ines house, and explained to the others that stayed there what happened and they all agreed they did the right thing.

After spending the rest of the afternoon celebrating the birthday of the twins, little by little they guests start to leave to their homes, smiling and kissing the birthday girls who had the time of their lives.

The night had fall over Kashyyyk, and after putting the kids to sleep, which didn't take much since they were exhausted, Luke walked outside where Ines was, with their baby on her arms, rocking him gently.

Feeling Luke's arms around her waist, embracing her from behind, she smiled.

"Are the kids asleep?" she asked him

"Yes. I think it was the fastest time they fell asleep."

"Maybe we should make this every day from now on," she said making him laughed.

"If we do that then we are also the ones who sleep fast," he said smirking and looked at their baby whose eyes started to close. "And this beauty is also falling a sleep."

"Yes. His stomach is full, his diaper is dry, even I would fell asleep fast," she said smiling at her boy.

After a while in silence, she looked at her husband.

"Babe, do you really think we did the right thing by allow those people come here?"

Luke looked at her and move her string of her hair from her face.

"Are you having second thoughts?"

"No. I still think they were in real trouble. But you know there is always a chance we may be wrong. What if it is a trap?"

"If it is, we are here to fight them." Luke said.

"I know, I just don't want to put the Wookiees in trouble. They were kind enough to allow us to be here through the whole summer. Bringing a war here is the last thing I want."

Luke nod. He understood what Ines was saying and he agreed with her.

"Well tomorrow we will know for sure if we did the right thing or not," he said. "Come on, let's get inside and get some sleep too."

"Sleep?" she said making him giggled.

"Do you have something in else in mind, Mrs Skywalker?" he said.

"I know that today is your daughters birthday but I deserve a gift too, after all I was the one who had to push them out of me."

Luke couldn't help but laughed at that.

"Well I think you deserve a gift too," he said leaning forward and kissed her. "Then let's go then."

Smiling, they head inside for a special night for themselves too.

The day came sunny again, at right now, some of the Wookiees alongside with the Skywalkers, Solos, Ahsoka and Din were at the platform where the distress ship would land.

They had receives another call saying they were about to arrived and at the exact time, they started to spot a ship up the sky entering in the atmosphere of Kashyyyk.

"This is it" Han said making Chewie growled and being followed by some of his companions.

The ship landed in the platform and of course the moment the door opened, everyone stood in position, ready for a fight if they have too, but like some of them believed, it wasn't need it.

When the door opened, an old man came out. He had gray hair and beard and glasses. Right behind him there was a young girl, around 11/12 years old, curly blonde hair.

The moment they saw here, Ines, Luke and Ahsoka looked at each other. They all sense the same thing.

The man looked at the faces looking at them and smiled.

"Thank you so much, you saved our lives. We didn't know how much longer we could be up there."

"You're welcome," Luke spoke.

"Who are you?" Ines asked them.

"My name is Noa Briqualon," the old man.

"What about you?" Ahsoka asked the girl.

"I'm Cindel. Cindel Towani," she said smiling at them. She knew they were save.

The people in distress call arrived. Noa Briqualon and Cindel Towani are two characters of the movies Ewoks: The Caravan of Courage and Ewoks: Battle for Endor.
