Ines was walking back and forth in the Senate Hospital in Coruscant.
The trip between Jedha and Coruscant less than 24 hours, but for her it felt like an eternity, especially seeing her husband like that, without any memory of anything after he met Han and Chewie back in the Cantina in Mos Eisley, meaning not only he didn't remember her and their relationship, he didn't remember what happened through the past 10 years, including their kids, which made her ever sadder, because she knew the kids would be heart broken, especially the girls, mainly Alli for sure.
When she report to Han and Leia back in the Falcon, they were hurried too, and Han decided it was for the best to take Luke to the Senate Hospital the first moment they land in Coruscant, because Luke needed to be check out, and being the only one he actually knew who he was, he was sure Luke would at least listen to him.
Leaving the kids with Gracy and Noa and Cindel, Iris and Ken, they all went to the hospital, and right now as Luke was being examine, they were in the waiting room, waiting for the doctor to come out and tell them how severe was the amnesia.
"I knew it this would happen." she kept saying. "I had this bad feeling back in Yavin 4 and I told him that. I told him I had a feeling that I would lose him."
"Hey don't say that kid." Han said. "You didn't lose him. He is here, alive."
Ines looked at him.
"Yes he is here, alive, with no memory of me or anything that happened between us for the past 10 years. He doesn't remember our kids. His children." she said sighing. "What I'm going to tell to the children? How I can't tell them that their father don't have any memory of them? How do you tell that to a 5 and 4 years old kids?"
"They are smart kids. They will understand that their father got an injury, the twins watched it and he will be okay." Dan told his sister and wrapped his right arm around her shoulder.
"It is easy for you to say, brother. The kids will be so devastated, especially Alli." she replied with tears in her eyes. "What if it is permanent?"
"Don't say things like that. He will remember. Amnesia don't last forever." Leia said.
"You know that according to what he said, he also didn't know you two are twins, and we know the first he saw you he thought you were very beautiful in that message." Ines said looking at her sister in law, who sighed.
"Well we have to tell him not to start to get any ideas." Leia said. "Besides we already explained that to him, and that Han and I are married with kids."
In that moment, Dr. Trowkye, a Kel Dor specie, came from the room where he was examining Luke towards them. Seeing him, they all stood up and Ines walked towards him right away.
"Doctor how is my husband?" she asked in a worried tone.
"Mrs. Skywalker, your husband is fine. I examine him and he doesn't have any injured, any broke bones."
"How about is head? He doesn't remember anything from the past 10 years. That is not good, right?" Amidala asked him, after all that was her son who also didn't remember who she was.
"He suffered a head trauma when he hit the wall, according to what you told me. Sometimes this head traumas can cause amnesia." Dr. Trowkye tried to explain.
"How long can it last?" Ahsoka asked him
"We don't know. It can take hours, days, weeks. It depends how big the trauma was. As far as I noticed, he is fine. A little lump in the head, but apart of the amnesia, he can go home."
Ines sighed hopeless. Dr. Trowkye looked at her and he understood her despair.
"Your husband will get his memory back, but be patience. I will tell you what I told him. Don't try to force him to remember things. His memory will be back at its own term, little by little. Try to make him remember something he doesn't, it will only do worse than any good. Just tell him when he question you of something."
With a nod, he left while Ines with Han and Leia decided to entered in the room, where Luke was already putting his clothes on.
"Hey kid. How are you feeling?" Han asked trying to smile while patting his left shoulder, making Luke looked at him and smirked.
"Like I took a heavy beating."
"That was from the impact you suffered." Ines spoke making Luke look at her.
Even if he didn't remember her, on the way back to Coruscant and to the Hospital, they explained everything to him: that he and Ines were married, that they had 4 kids, that he was a Jedi Master and an uncle. It was something he had to process, especially about the fact that him and the girl of the message were twins and their father was Darth Vader, the one Ben had told him that had betrayed and murdered his father. How was that possible?
"I know. Dr. Trowkye told me that in the next few days I will be a little sore but nothing serious." he said. "All I want is to go home and get some rest."
"Yeah do that. Maybe you will feel better in the morning." Leia said smiling.
Luke looked at them and they knew what he was thinking.
"It is for the best to stay in our home. The kids will see if all of the sudden their father is not there with their mother." Ines said looking at him.
Han looked at Luke and he knew his friend didn't know what to do. And it broke his heart to see two of the people he loved the most and he knew were crazy for each other, acted like it was the first time they saw each other. At least one of them was acting like that.
"Look kid. I know this is very strange for you, but Ines is right. Maybe being there you can start remembering some stuff by yourself."
"Maybe being around the kids will help too." Leia said nodding.
"Look Luke, you don't need to worry, I will not try anything on you. I will respect your space. But for kids sake, just come home with me."
Luke looked at this beautiful woman, that deep inside he couldn't believe was his wife, but the wedding ring on his left finger showed him otherwise and deep inside she was right. And maybe being there he could remember something.
"Okay."
Nodding in relieve, Ines looked at Han and Leia, knowing that difficult times were about to come, at least until the love of her life continue to not remember her, but she needed to be strong, for him and for their kids.
So because of the head trauma Luke only have memories until the time he met Han and Chewie in the cantina with Ben. Do you think he will get his memory quickly or it will last a little longer?
