Chapter 53 - New plan?

Once they knew that Gideon had escape of the Coruscant Prison, they head towards it right away.

Once they arrived Wedge was already there.

"Hey my friend. How is everything?" Dan asked him

"Not good. Someone just entered here while everyone was focus on the fire in the lower levels, and somehow it was able to free Gideon."

"How is that possible? Where were the guards?" Ahsoka asked him

"There was a guard, and he didn't see anyone."

"Where is he?" Han asked him

"Inside. But he will not be able to tell you anything," Wedge warned them.

Walking inside the complex, they saw there was still white smoke that was still filling it.

"Now we know why you told he was not be able to tell us anything," Luke said.

Approaching the guard, who was sitting on a chair, they notice he had an ice patch on his head.

"Are you okay?" Luke asked the poor man.

"I'm sorry Master Skywalker. I couldn't do anything to prevent this."

"Hey, it is not your fault. But if you could tell us what happened it would help?" Ahsoka said resting her hand on the poor man shoulder.

"I will try but everything was so quick. I was on my office, when I heard the alarm. That is when we got the information about the fire on the lower levels. Some of me colleagues were sent to help, and I stood here guarding the complex." he started.

"And what happened next?" Han asked him.

"Everything was calm, until the doors opened. I thought they were returning from it, but instead of people coming in, a round object just rolled inside. I didn't have time to react. Before I could do anything, it explode in a white, thick smoke, I couldn't breath or see anything. When I least expecting, I was knock out, and when I woke up, Gideon was gone."

They all looked at each other.

"A smoke bomb," Han said. "Smart move."

"I'm really sorry," the man continue.

"Hey, at least you are alive," Luke said looking around when he remembered something. "This complex has cameras in it."

"Yes. Do you think they caught something, even with the smoke?" Dan said.

"At least we can try?" Luke replied to his brother in law.

"Where is the surveillance room?" Ahsoka asked him.

"In there. I will show you myself," the guard said and they all walked towards a small room, where they could see many monitors, showing the places where the cameras were pointing at.

After pulling back the images, they were able to see exactly what the guard just had told them, minutes ago. They could see the guards leaving, and then several minutes later they could see a round object rolling in and then seconds later the room was filled with smoke.

"We can't see anything with this smoke. These people are intelligent." Han said

Chewie growled and then pointed to the monitor who showed Gideon's cell.

"You are right Chewie, the smoke is only in that room. There is no sign of it in the complex where Gideon was," Ahsoka said.

After a while they saw a figure appeared, and using a device, it melt the bars and then they saw Gideon leaving the cell, but before he left, he looked at the camera and smile, before leave with the person who helped him escape.

"Son of a bitch, he even smiled at the camera," Dan said furious.

"And we couldn't see who did this." Wedge said.

"We know it is the same person who did the attack on the Coruscant Library." Luke replied looking at the images.

"She knew where the cameras were, that is why she was able not to show her face. But I'm sure she was wearing a mask of some kind," Han said nodding.

"Now what? Do you think he is still here?" Wedge asked

"He is gone for sure." Luke said sighing. "That fire was a decoy to distracted everyone and leave the Prison vulnerable. They were planned this for months. I know it."

They looked at him, and Luke knew what they were thinking. These new Empire followers were very intelligent, way more than the previous one and they need to be extra careful.

"One thing we know for sure. Cara will not be please when she knows about this. They took a lot to caught him and we let him escape, beneath our noses," Han said, making everything nodding in agreement.

"Well there is nothing we can do now. We better get home, take a nice bath, change clothes and then we will need a new plan," Luke said.

"You are right," Dan said and they all left to Luke's home, where each one of them, left to their own apartments, having a nice rest after a long day.

Somewhere in the abandoned part of Coruscant:

Gideon arrived to the place where he would be hiding for a while.

"Why couldn't we leave?" he asked.

"Because it would be too risky. We made sure, they will think you are already gone. Besides Lord Thrawn wants you here for now. And he wants to speak with you," the person said.

Looking at the mask person, Gideon wanted to know who was the person who helped him to escape the prison, but a holo appeared and the face of Thrawn appeared, making the person kneeled, and Gideon decided to followed her.

"So, I see my wonderful spy was succeeded."

Gideon looked at the person besides him and then look up

"Thank you for freed me. I can't thank you enough," he said. "I will promise I will get my revenge on them, especially the Skywalker guy."

"I don't want him dead." Thrawn said. "I want him. But for that to happen, we need to attack where his heart is."

Gideon frown

"How we will going to do that?" Gideon asked

"Leave that to my wonderful spy. I know why. I want his kids and wife." Thrawn smile, making Gideon smile too.

That would be fun to watch.
