CHAPTER 40: THE TRUE CRIME

ASCEN'S POV

"So can you tell me now how did you solve the case and it's just not a nonsense?" The police officer asked.

"Midazolam drug." Biglang sabi ni Xen tsaka may nilapag sa mesa na syringe na nakalagay sa ziplock. "There's an injection mark in his neck." He added.

Kinuha naman nu'ng isang pulis 'yung ziplock.

"But the file that's inside his laptop is locked and even the professors can't unlock it?" The police asked.

"If you have his laptop right now, I can type the decryption of it and show it to you that we did decrypted it." Gwyn said.

Sinenyasan nu'ng pulis 'yung isa pang pulis.

At pagkabalik nito ay dala dala n'ya na 'yung laptop ni Philip.

If they just let me use it, sana nalaman nila agad kung sino 'yung killer.

"Can you?"

Agad namang tumayo si Gwyn tsaka pumunta sa tabi ng pulis.

I knew that's a lot of numbers to put. Hindi ko rin maimagine kung gaano katagal at kahirap n'yang kinalculate 'yung series of large numbers. Sobrang laki talaga nu'ng public key na kailangang i-decrypt at hindi basta basta masosolve.

Ginawa rin naman ni Rune na i-click 'yung chat log na nasa tab na lumabas sa encrypted file. Tsaka nag pop up 'yung mga screenshots ng exposed conversation nu'ng victim at nu'ng suspect.

Marahan ko 'yung binabasa lahat. Gano'n din 'yung pulis.

Nakipag deal nga 'yung suspect sa victim na makipagkita sa cr para mabura lahat ng naexpose na pics at pati na rin 'yung post.

"Then how do we find this suspect? Anonymous 'yung account at nabura na rin." The police said.

"There's a downloadable text document inside the tab. And inside that text document is the profile link of the anonymous account. It's deleted but I tried navigating through various secure channels and bypassed security messures. I also gained access to the deleted account's data." Rune answered.

Tumayo s'ya tsaka pumunta sa tabi ng pulis at nilapag ulit paharap sa kanila 'yung laptop n'ya.

"Here's the deleted account, pwede n'yo pong kuhanan ng litrato 'yung post and mga conversation lists for evidences." Sabi ni Rune na agad namang ginawa nu'ng pulis.

"I also dived deeper into the account's metadata and traced the ip address of it that leads to a VPN service. And after analyzing the the data packets, I used an algorithm to match the signature I found." Rune said. "And after matching," Nilabas ni Rune 'yung phone n'ya. "I have now the information where's the suspect's location." Sabi n'ya habang pinapakita sa pulis 'yung phone n'ya.

"You can borrow my phone sir and try following the red dot, it's the place where's the suspect current location." Sabi pa ni Rune.

"It's in your school." The police said.

"Exactly sir. Hindi pa n'ya nabubura lahat ng chat conversations and even the account's email and password. So para wala na s'yang takas, you just need to confront him and ask if you can get his phone."

"Pero paano namin malalaman kung sino mismo 'yung may ari ng phone? Magpapakita ba rito sa cellphone mo?" Tanong nu'ng pulis.

"Kapag few steps away nalang po kayo sa may ari ng device na tinitrace ng red dot, bigla pong mag aalarm 'yung phone n'ya kahit naka silent mode." Sagot ni Rune. "And by the way sir, para mas makilala n'yo po agad 'yung tunog. Here's the alarm I used to make his phone ring."
