One moment, Chenle was on his way to the Hall of Eternal Blessings for a matter that needed their assistance, chatting with Jisung just beside him, and the next moment, a servant ran up to him, panting heavily, calling for his presence at the Palace of Gifted Fortune, his parents' residence. Before he could protest, knowing very well that the court had been extremely busy these past few months with two of the crown princes struggling to keep up, the servant blurted between pained breaths, "Her Grand Highness is in labor!"

The Grand Highness, Grand Princess of Na, Lee Seohee, Emperor Na Daewon's younger sister and both Chenle and Donghyuck's mother, had been pregnant for a total of nine months now, and it was very much expected for her to be giving birth very soon. Because of this, when the two emperors Na and Lee made their journeys back to their respective empires, Lee Seohee remained here with her husband, Zhong Zhenyu, younger brother of the late Emperor Huang Xinyue and the Grand Prince of Huang. If she wanted to go back, it would take at least a week's worth of travel to return to Na, and it was not good for a pregnant woman to travel such long distances especially women who were over eight months pregnant.

So, when Chenle heard of this, although he was shocked, he was not surprised. When he had seen his mother the night before, he almost thought her stomach was going to explode by how big it had gotten, and he was sure that she would be giving birth within the next few days.

Upon getting the news that his mother was in labor, he and Jisung had immediately ditched their route to the outer court right back into the inner court and to his mother's palace. By the time they had arrived, the baby had been delivered.

"Hyung!" Chenle called, seeing his older brother already beside their mother. "What- how- is Mother okay?" His breathing was rough, panting from his quick journey from where he originally was.

To his surprise, it was his mother who answered and not Donghyuck, "I'm fine, Lele."

The princess laid in her bed, soaked with her own sweat and blood, her eyes laden with fatigue. Maidservants cleared out of the room carrying towels soaked in a light pink—Seohee seemed to have bled a little. Beside her was the princes' father, Zhenyu, gently nestling her head on his lap as he caringly wiped away the sweat on her forehead. He, too, was drenched in sweat, most likely stressed out by the entire situation.

And, in Seohee's arms was the long awaited baby, swaddled in warm cloth pressed tightly against her chest as she smiled proudly down at it.

"Lele," said Donghyuck, who was kneeling on the floor beside their mother, looking over at his little brother with a gentle smile. "It's a girl. We... we have a little sister."

Without waiting another moment, Chenle made his way to his family. "A sister? We... we have a sister?!?" He couldn't handle his excitement, his voice almost nearly too loud for the recovering mother.

"Your Highness." It was the scolding voice of Doctor Xu. Although he was not allowed to be in the room while Seohee was delivering, he was nearby, making sure the maidservants were doing the right things and taking good care of the princess while she was in labor. When it was finally delivered, Doctor Xu had stepped in and examined the baby and the mother's health, making sure there were no issues with either of them. "Please keep your voice down. The Grand Princess needs her rest."

"Sorry-"

Seohee shook her head. "It's no need, Doctor. Excitement is a good thing. It means the baby is well received."

The doctor bowed his head. "Of course, Your Highness is right."

"How's her health?" Zhenyu stepped in.
