Day 3 Enjoy! "Love Among Bare Branches"

Keith was on a mission from hell. There were no other words for it. The "it's a supply run mission" that turned into a nightmare. It was hot, sweltering, practically burning. He swore that he could feel his blood bubbling like he was being boiled alive. Yet, he was still breathing. Granted, he was a sweaty, filthy mess. But technically not boiled. With his uniform practically rags, it was amazing that the cotton cloth was still scratching his skin but worse, he could not for the life of him remember when he last ate.

It might seem like a small thing but he knew he needed the calories and energy. He just had no idea how to get any food.

Pausing to rebind the wound on his arm, he debated on adding another strip from his shirt to tighten it a bit more. He debated the effort but honestly, he didn't know what the right answer was. Fuck this mission went sideways fast. Currently, he crawling around some damn tunnel hoping that he'd miraculously find a way out. Unfortunately, he had no communicator or plan.

Honestly, he didn't know how he was going to get off this planet, he didn't have any tools or weapons. At times like these, he missed his team. His real team. Shiro always had his back-nagging about this or that, Lance providing backup-with his puns or off-beat jokes, Hunk-who was just a ray of positive light. Hell, Hunk would probably be able to whip up some kind of four-course meal with some insects and water.

Chuckling, he shook off those thoughts. He needed to focus on getting out of here. Because, Katie. God his girlfriend. Flashes of thoughts, her smirk, her laugh when she thought she got one over on him, her head on his shoulder...so many new and old memories flashed and merged in his mind. Yeah, he needed to get his ass in gear. Didn't matter if he was alone, unarmed, and lost.

Didn't matter if he had no plan, no clue or idea what to do.

Damned if he'd give up when he wanted so many more moments with her. Katie, he needed to get back to her. Cuz, he knew...she'd be putting her life on the line if he didn't.
