30 • Damon

Imagine being the only one who can turn Damon's humanity back on.

"Hello?" You spoke after picking up your ringing phone.

"Hey Megan it's Stefan here, we have a problem." Stefan's voice sounded worried and panicked. "Damon flipped the switch." His words made you widen your eyes in disbelief.

"W-why? Why would he do that?" You were confused, he didn't seem like he was struggling with his emotions.

"It's Damon, who knows?" Stefan sighed as you were already thinking of a way to get him back. "I've got an idea, but I need you to come to the boarding house."

"Okay, I'm on my way." You spoke as you got into your car and started driving towards the Salvatore house.

The drive gave you time to think, you'd always been very close to Damon, you were best friends after all. You really wanted to be a vampire with him so that you could enjoy more of life... Well afterlife anyway. Although Damon didn't want to turn you, he'd made that clear. He wanted you to enjoy your human life and not make decisions based on being with him, which was quite unlike Damon.

However there's always been an air of flirtatiousness and sexual tension sometimes, that made you rethink your feelings for Damon. It sounded strange but you were attracted to the damaged and dangerous vampire, he just had something about him that you wanted more of.

You pulled up and didn't bother parking your car properly, before bolting up the porch steps as fast as you could. Just as you knocked on the old wooden door, it opened straight away to reveal a tired and stressed out looking Stefan.

"Hey, do you know where he is?" You asked as Stefan opened the door wider to allow you to come in.

"Yeah, he's downstairs." Stefan stated causing you to furrow your eyebrows.

"How is he downstairs?" You asked in confusion and began heading to the basement.

"Woah stop right there, he's locked up and can probably hear us right now so let's go on a walk." Stefan encouraged you. However you were torn between going down to see your best friend who was suffering, or to leave without speaking to him. Finally you nodded and followed Stefan out of the house, whilst thinking of any kind of way that could turn on Damon's humanity.

"So I was thinking, maybe we coul-"

"No Megan I have a plan, okay and I hope you're comfortable with it." Stefan cut you off and you sighed before nodding for him to continue. "Okay so I think that if Damon has one weakness, it's you. He cares about you so much and wouldn't want to see you get hurt."

"So I take it that I'm going to get hurt?" You asked as worry began to build up inside of you.

"Maybe... I'm going to pretend to kill you, hopefully he'll come to his senses and turn it back on." Stefan spoke and seemed proud of his cunning plan as you raised an eyebrow at him.

"Really? Stefan you know I want to be a vampire, so why not feed me your blood and kill me in front of him?" You asked, it was what you'd been wanting for a while. Nobody wanted to turn you, but this seemed like a desperate situation.

"Are you sure you've thought this through? I mean it is dying." Stefan spoke as he began to think about anything that could go wrong.

"I'm sure Stefan, I've wanted it for a while now." You spoke confidently as Stefan huffed but nodded.

"Okay but he might be angry with me or you... Or both of us." He stated quietly as the two of you stood facing each other.

"I know but at least he'll feel something, even if it is anger." You shrugged as Stefan bit into his wrist and held it towards you. You were hesitant as you put the fresh wound to your mouth and began to swallow the crimson liquid that dripped from it.
