48 • Stefan & Caroline

Imagine growing up as Stefan and Caroline's child.

"Mom I'll be fine." You groaned as your mum tried to fix your hair whilst also trying to hold two bags full of your belongings.

"I just want you to be safe and okay." She sighed and stepped back to stand next to your dad.

"Mom I'm starting college, I'm not going off to war." You laughed as they smiled at you. "And like you said a thousand times, you're both just a phone call away."

"Just have fun, and like your mom said be safe. No dorm parties." He joked but Caroline looked serious as you just rolled your eyes and nodded, taking the bags from your mom.

"Okay well I'll see you guys soon." You smiled and hugged both of them, Stefan kissing your forehead. 

"Bye." They both waved as you walked towards the campus entrance, cringing as they continued to wave.

"Come on she'll be fine."  Stefan reassured Caroline as the two of them got back into the car.

"I just can't believe how fast it's gone, it's like only yesterday she was a baby and Damon was trying to persuade us to let him babysit." She sighed and looked out of the car window.

*17 years ago*

"Damon!" Stefan yelled throughout the house. "Stay here and get the house ready! The baby's coming!" He shouted and without waiting for a reply ran out to his car and sped to the hospital.

Stefan got there in just enough time as Caroline was in the private room already in labour, the doctors worked hard to deliver the baby like he'd told them to. Stefan had compelled them so that if anything strange happened they wouldn't think twice about it.

With one final push, Caroline's groaning came to a relieving halt as the sound of small cries filled the room. One of the midwives held the baby before passing it to Stefan, he looked at the small person in his hands and wondered how it had been possible.

When both of them had heard about the spell that certain witches had the power to do that allows vampires to have children, they had been skeptical at first. Wondering if it would really work, however they were willing to give it a try.

Now Stefan stared down at you in adoration, amazed by the way you wriggled your tiny limbs around in his arms.

"What should we call her?" Caroline asked from the bed as Stefan walked over and they both looked at you, Caroline gazed at you lovingly as you grabbed her finger in a tight fist.

"What about Mimi?" Stefan asked and Caroline nodded in delight, you calmed down and stopped crying. Both of your parents laughed slightly as you giggled and wiggled Caroline's finger around.

In just under a day you were on your way home, Stefan just prayed that Damon would behave and not scare you.

You went through the door in the carrier that Stefan held, your small eyes landing on a tall man with dark hair.

"This is your Uncle Damon." Caroline cooed at you as the tall man called 'Damon' approached. You stared at his pale blue eyes as he crouched down to your level and smiled lightly.

"Hey there future killer." Damon smirked as Caroline gasped and Stefan rolled his eyes.

"Damon." Stefan warned through gritted teeth.

"I'm kidding, I can't believe I have a niece." He spoke astonished. "We're going to have so much fun when I babysit you, you'll be my partner in crime!" Damon spoke excitedly to you as Stefan huffed.

"We're never letting him babysit, right?" Caroline whispered and Stefan chuckled.

"I heard that." Damon called.

"Well I think it's time for the two of them to get some rest, don't you think? It's been a tiring few days." Stefan interrupts Damon and takes you out of the carrier.

*Present day*

"You know she'll be okay." Stefan reassured Caroline as the car pulled up to the driveway. "What's worrying you the most?" He asked as they both got out of the car and headed for the door.

"You remember when I tried to go to college at Whitmore, you remember all of the bad things that happened." Caroline spoke nervously, recalling the vampire hunters and chaos the Augustine society brought to her friends.

"Yes but that was Whitmore, remember we wiped out the Augustine Society for good." Stefan reminded Caroline and wrapped an arm around her. Once inside, they saw Damon sat on the sofa looking surprisingly miserable.

"Has she gone?" Damon asked as Stefan nodded. "How long to till I get to see her again?" He questioned grimly.

"Damon let her breathe a bit for now, we'll visit her soon. She doesn't need to be babied her whole life." Stefan replied as Damon sighed.

"Think I preferred it when she was a baby." Damon grumbled before sulking off.

Okay so I know that vampires can't have kids but for the sake of this imagine they can okay? :')

GUESS WHAT!! I'm already halfway through planning the story for my new TVD book where you decide your fate! It's going to be called Dying To Live and will be out by the end of August :D So listen out for that, which I can't wait about!
