Imagine moving to Mystic Fall and meeting a flirty Tyler.

You breathed in deeply as the car sped past the sign for the small town of Mystic Falls, wanting nothing more than to go home. Every time you told your mum that, she replied with the blunt comment that this was your home now.

You hated the fact that they were making you move away from your friends, family. Everything and everyone you knew was a two hour drive away.

"And here we are." Your mum smiled as the two of you pulled up to an average suburban house, it was extremely plain and identical to all of the others on the road. In your mums mind this was the best thing you'd done in years, she felt a fresh start was needed.

However you had other thoughts on how good the idea was, and the thought of starting a new high school did not sound appealing.

After you'd helped carry some of the boxes into the new house and put them in your room, you decided you'd go out and explore. After all, the first thing you'd need to learn is your way around.

"Mum I'm just going to look around." You explained when she saw you putting on your shoes and head for the door.

"Okay." She sighed. "But just be back before it's dark." She spoke quite sternly as you frowned but nodded.

"See you later then." You smiled and kissed her cheek before heading out, closing the door behind you.

You walked down the road and followed the signs that directed traffic to the town square. It wasn't a big town, but it did have quite a lot of residents.

In the centre of the town, you found a bench and sat down, surveying the new surroundings that you were supposed to call home.

The cool breeze was a fresh relief from the hot summer air, it soothed the stress of moving. Dread filled your mind at the thought of having to go back home later and unpack more boxes.

You soon grew bored of sitting on the bench, you weren't sure what you were waiting for anyway. It seemed like a good idea, however now you wanted to explore more rural parts of the town.

On the road towards the town you'd spotted a large area of woodlands that looked enticing. You vaguely remembered which direction it was and began to head towards the less populated part of town.

When the tree line came into view, so did signs for the cemetery. It creeped you out a bit at first, but once you saw the iron gates and fence you avoided that area.

You continued deep into the undergrowth, going further into the forest. The harmonic sounds of the trees rustling and the birds singing above you filled your ears. It was a stark contrast from the noisy traffic and bustling crowds of the city from your old home.

A sudden twig snapping sent your pleasant walk to a halt. You couldn't tell which direction it was coming from and it could have been anything. You then realised what a dumb choice you'd made.

You'd read about many strange animal attacks that occurred in Mystic Falls. Yet here you were; alone in the thick forest, exposed and endangered.

Another twig snapped from behind you and you whirled around with your fists out, ready to punch whatever was there. Your eyes widened when they met a tanned guys with dark hair, he looked at you warily and held up his hands.

"Woah woah, easy there. I'm not going to hurt you." He chuckled slightly as he looked at your feeble attempt to hurt him.

"Who are you?" You asked aggressively, trying to show him that you weren't scared. However you did lower your fists slightly.

"My name's Tyler, what abut you?" He questioned back as you pondered for a moment, should you tell him your real name? "What's wrong? You forgotten your name?" He asked with a small chuckle as you shook your head.

"Uh it's Jocey." You mumbled as he raised an eyebrow and nodded.

"Cute name." He smiled lightly and held his hand out for you to shake. "If you don't mind me asking but what's a good looking girl like you doing out here in the woods? Please tell me you're not a stoner." He almost whined as you rolled your eyes.

"N-no I'm not a stoner. I just moved here and wanted to explore the area a bit." You shrugged as he nodded. "What's a guy like you doing out here, are you a stoner?" You fired back as he laughed nervously.

"N-no I'm just taking a walk." He spoke, nervousness evident in his voice as you narrowed your eyes.
"You know I could show you around. I mean if you want to." He shrugged as you thought about it, what if he was tricking you. He could lead you to some house and kidnap you. He must have sensed the suspicious thoughts you were having as you frowned. "Don't worry I'm not a murderer or anything." He laughed lightly as you nodded.

"Ugh sure, I mean why not." You laughed, thinking what the heck. You could handle yourself, so what did you have to loose?

"And finally this is your street." He laughed as you rolled your eyes.

"I know that, I'm not stupid." You chuckled as you walked up the path towards your house. "So I guess I'll ugh see you at school tomorrow then?" You smiled as he nodded.

"Yep I can show you around there as well if you want, I think you'll like my friends." He spoke enthusiastically as you nodded and hugged him gently.

"Thanks so much Tyler, I'm glad I have at least one friend here." You laughed.

"It's honestly fine. I'll see you tomorrow." He smiled before walking back down the path, he turned and waved when he got to the end, before walking off.

You smiled to yourself as you let yourself into the house and saw your mum.

"Who was that then?" She questioned and raised her eyebrows as you both laughed.

"My new friend Tyler, he was showing me around." You explained as she cocked her head.

"Friend?" She emphasised as you huffed and rolled your eyes before stomping up the stairs.

Dying to live is still in the works and I hope to have finished it by 20th August :D  thanks for all of the reads it's already got!!

Guys I'm probably going to finish this book at 200 chapters, and I aim to finish it this year :D
